  • Publication number: 20180227900
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure implement techniques to allow a base station to transmit a “short-page” message (e.g., paging indicators) to one or more UEs. The short-page message may be decoded by all UEs in the paging cycle and identifies a subset of UEs from the full set of UEs that are paged by the base station. Upon decoding the short page transmitted by the base station, the UE may respond with a “short-page response” to the base station on a transmit beam that offers best signal quality (e.g., low signal-to-noise ratio, transmit power, etc.). Thus, in some examples, the UE, in response to receiving a short paging message, may provide feedback to the base station such that the base station may select a transmit beam for transmission for a subsequent message (and other communications).

  • Publication number: 20180220448
Abstract: A grant may allocate resources for an uplink transmission by a user equipment (UE) in a system using beamforming, where the resources may be used by the UE to transmit data or control information during a time that a base station is listening in a certain receive beam direction. A UE may be in communication with a base station using beamformed transmissions, and the base station may send a resource grant to the UE for uplink transmissions that correspond to a receive beam direction of a beamsweeping operation. The UE may then transmit data and/or uplink control information to the base station according to the resource grant and when the base station is listening in the corresponding direction. In some examples, the UE may send the uplink transmission to the serving base station, and transmit a random access channel to another base station based on the beamsweeping operation.

  • Publication number: 20180220398
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, multi-link PDCCH monitoring. A UE may receive signaling configuring it to operate in at least one of a set of different modes of monitoring beam-pair links, wherein each beam-pair link comprises a transmit beam configured to be used by a base station (BS) for beamformed transmissions and a corresponding receive beam used by the UE. The UE may monitor at least two or more beam-pair links for downlink control channel transmissions based, at least in part, on the received signaling, and may transmit feedback to the BS based, at least in part, on the monitored beam-pair links.

  • Publication number: 20170040798
Abstract: Described in this disclosure are embodiments for controlling a load and an energy source associated with an entity. A system may determine a first energy level, along with variability for the first energy level, associated with the entity for a first period (e.g., prior to a present time). The first and second energy levels may be received from one or more control devices in communication with the system. The system may determine a second energy level associated with the entity for the second period. The second energy level may be based at least partly on the first energy level and the contextual data. The system may control, based at least partly on the second energy level, the load and the energy source.

  • Publication number: 20160248251
Abstract: Mechanisms and techniques for managing energy consumption within an energy management system are disclosed. In one embodiment, the energy management system includes a power generator and a management controller that controls activation of a plurality of load devices. The management controller is communicatively coupled to a meter that measures electrical energy transferred between the energy management system and an external power grid. The management controller monitors, using information from the meter, electrical energy transfer between the energy management system and the external power grid and receives a feed-out limit message from the external power grid. The management controller processes the feed-out limit message and modifies activation scheduling of at least one of the plurality of load devices based, at least in part, on processing the feed-out limit message.

  • Publication number: 20160124411
Abstract: Distributed energy demand management mechanisms for a distributed energy network are disclosed. In one example, a local energy controller of a local energy system determines projected energy demand information for a plurality of energy devices of the local energy system based on energy pricing information received from a central energy coordinator. The local energy controller modifies an energy consumption schedule during an energy pricing transition period based on energy access control information received from the central energy coordinator to manage a projected energy demand increase during the energy pricing transition period of the distributed energy network. In one example, the central energy coordinator determines the energy pricing information for the distributed energy network based on energy supply information and the projected energy demand information.
