  • Patent number: 11733107
Abstract: A thermistor sensor arrangement for measuring chipset temperature is provided. According to various aspects of the present disclosure, a sensor assembly is placed between a heat sink of a chipset and a PCB on which the chipset is mounted. The sensor assembly includes a thermistor sensor, an electrical connector, and a resilient pad. The thermistor sensor includes a first end having a sensing element and a second end having sensor contacts. The electrical connector has a first interface to receive the sensor contacts, a second interface through which the signals are outputted, and a bottom surface to mount to the PCB. The resilient pad has an upper surface to which the sensing element is attached and a lower surface to engage with the PCB such that when the resilient pad is compressed, spring force of the resilient pad facilitates temperature measurement by pressing the sensing element against the heat sink.

  • Patent number: 11255347
Abstract: Vibration damping devices and methods utilizing the same for damping vibrations in a fan. A vibration damping device for a fan, the fan having an inlet side of a frame and an exhaust side of the frame and the frame retains a fan mechanism. The vibration damping device includes a mass mT which may include either: a block with a total mass mT; or a finger guard and at least one resilient attachment member having a first spring characteristic, wherein resilient attachment member is configured to be connected to and retain the mass mT. The vibration damping device may be tunable to damp the vibration of fan by (a) varying the total mass mT of the block, or replacing the finger guard, and/or (b) replacing the at least one resilient attachment member with a second resilient attachment member having a second spring characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20180376614
Abstract: A check valve cover to prevent backflow of air through a cooling fan. A circumferential base connects to a fan and flaps arranged in an annular pattern, the flaps each have an outer substantially fixed portion and an inner un-fixed portion. The flaps are flexibly fixed at the outer fixed portion to the circumferential base and are freely movable at the inner un-fixed portion. Flaps may have self-closing property and/or may incorporate one or more anti-vibration holes located between adjacent flaps. Check valve can be fitted on outlet side of a fan close to output side of the fan so that opening of the flaps towards fan is prevented to prevent backflow of air when the fan is not operational.
