The method includes: sending a competition request message to more than one publishing party, the competition request message including a request duration, and the request duration being less than or equal to a total duration of a target display position; receiving competition reply messages returned by the more than one publishing party; and determining, according to the competition reply messages, whether corresponding publishing parties participate in competition, competition durations of participating in the competition, and competition exchange parameters; selecting, according to the competitions duration and the competition exchange parameters from the publishing parties that participate in the competition, a group of publishing parties; and sending network media information of the selected publishing parties to the target display position for publishing.

The terminal device searches display positions of a display medium, obtains identification information of at least one display position, sending an information playing request to a network side after adding the obtained identification information into the information playing request. The network side obtains the identification information in the information playing request, searches for display data corresponding to the at least one display position, sends an information playing response to the terminal device after adding the identification information and the display data into the information playing response. The terminal device displays medium information on the display position of the display medium according to the display data corresponding to the at least one display position.
