    Abstract: An image sensor and a control method thereof. The image sensor includes pixel blocks arranged in an array. A photosensitive unit and an overflow unit are coupled to a transmission node, a reset unit and a readout unit are coupled to a floating diffusion node; and a transmission control unit is coupled between the transmission node and the floating diffusion node. The photosensitive unit converts optical signals into first/second charge signals; the transmission control unit controls a transfer path between the transmission node and the floating diffusion node, so that the second charge signal is transferred to the overflow unit in an exposure phase, and the first charge signal and the second charge signal are read out in a quantization phase; the reset unit resets the transmission node and the floating diffusion node; the readout unit reads out the first charge signal and the second charge signal.

Two adjacent pixel blocks in the same column share the same select transistor and the same reset transistor, or two groups each composed of two adjacent pixel blocks in three adjacent pixel blocks in the same column share the same select transistor and the same reset transistor, respectively.
