  • Publication number: 20170309311
Abstract: A method includes grouping media items associated with a user into segments based on a timestamp associated with each media item and a total number of media items. The method also includes selecting target media from the media items for each of the segments based on media attributes associated with the media item. The method also includes generating a video that includes the target media for each of the segments by generating a first animation that illustrates a first transition from a first item from the target media to a second item from the target media with movement of the first item from an onscreen location to an offscreen location, wherein the first item is adjacent to the second item in the first animation and determining whether the target media includes one or more additional items. The method also includes adding a song to the video.

  • Publication number: 20170093780
Abstract: Implementations relate to sharing images and image albums over a communication network. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes determining that a shared album data structure is accessible by a device and includes references to album images. The device determines one or more suggested images from a collection of stored images associated with a user, based on determining sharing scores for the stored images. The sharing scores are based on comparing one or more characteristics of the stored images to one or more corresponding characteristics of the album images. The method includes causing display of the one or more suggested images by the device, receiving a selection of at least one selected image of the suggested images based on received user input, and causing an update of the shared album data structure with the at least one selected image to be accessible over a communication network by recipient users.

  • Patent number: 9535928
Abstract: Content-based retrieval of digital pathology images (DPI) is a fundamental component in an intelligent DPI processing and management system. One key issue of content-based DPI retrieval is how to represent an image as a feature vector, capturing its key information that is most relevant to the goal of retrieval. A unified framework of extracting information of different levels for DPI, namely low level color information, middle level texture information and high level diagnostic information is described herein. Such information from all the levels are integrated to the end of content-based DPI retrieval.

  • Publication number: 20160283483
Abstract: Implementations relate to providing selected images from a set of images. In some implementations, a computer-executed method includes receiving a request from a device for one or more images, where the request specifies one or more specified time periods at each of one or more specified time scales. One or more groups of selected images are determined from a set of images, each group being within one of the one or more specified time periods at one of the one or more specified time scales. One or more of the selected images from the one or more groups are caused to be sent to the device.

  • Patent number: 9208405
Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a hierarchical image recognition framework for classifying digital images are provided. The provided hierarchical image recognition framework utilizes a multi-layer approach to model training and image classification tasks. A first layer of the hierarchical image recognition framework generates first layer confidence scores, which are utilized by the second layer to produce a final recognition score. The provided hierarchical image recognition framework permits model training and image classification tasks to be performed more accurately and in a less resource intensive fashion than conventional single-layer image recognition frameworks. In some embodiments real-time operator guidance is provided for an image classification task.

  • Patent number: 9202281
Abstract: An integrated interactive segmentation with spatial constraint method utilizes a combination of several of the most popular online learning algorithms into one and implements a spatial constraint which defines a valid mask local to the user's given marks. Additionally, both supervised learning and statistical analysis are integrated, which are able to compensate each other. Once prediction and activation are obtained, pixel-wised multiplication is conducted to fully indicate how likely each pixel belongs to the foreground or background.

  • Patent number: 9081822
Abstract: Content-based retrieval of digital pathology images (DPI) is a fundamental component in an intelligent DPI processing and management system. The fundamental procedure of the retrieval is evaluating the similarity between the query image and every image in the database with some distance function, and sorting of the latter based on their distances to the query. A novel approach to optimally combine a set of existing distance functions into a stronger distance that is suitable for retrieving DPI in a way respecting human perception of image similarity is described herein.

  • Patent number: 8938119
Abstract: An image comprising color pixels with varying illumination is selected. Instances of a repeating pattern in the image are determined. Illumination values for illuminated pixels at locations within instances of the repeating pattern are calculated based on pixel intensities of non-illuminated pixels at corresponding locations in other instances of the repeating pattern. The illumination variation is removed from the illuminated pixels based on the calculated illumination values to produce enhanced pixels. Color from the non-illuminated pixels at the corresponding locations in other instances of the repeating pattern is propagated to the enhanced pixels.
