  • Publication number: 20260078305
Abstract: Processes and systems for converting a hydrocarbon mixture to produce olefins including a first preheater, one or more separation systems, a secondary transferline exchanger, a thermal cracking heater, a primary transferline exchanger, and a flow line. The process includes preheating a hydrocarbon feed, separating the preheated hydrocarbon stream, heating the vaporized hydrocarbon, and heating the liquid hydrocarbon stream. The process includes cracking the heated hydrocarbon stream and the second vaporized hydrocarbon stream, feeding the cracked hydrocarbon product stream to a primary transferline exchanger, and feeding the cooled hydrocarbon product stream to the secondary transferline exchanger.

  • Patent number: 12509801
Abstract: According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a process for the production of a cellulose filaments or films, comprising the steps of dissolving a cellulose substrate in an ionic liquid consisting of the superbase cation 7-methyl-1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-enium [mTBDH]+ and an anion to produce a solution forming a spinning dope, said anion being derived from an acid which is present at a stoichiometric excess to the superbase, extruding the spinning dope through a spinneret in a coagulation bath containing water to form filaments or films from the solution, withdrawing ionic liquid in an aqueous mixture with water from the coagulation bath, recovering the ionic liquid [mTBDH][OAc] from the aqueous mixture by removing water and optionally recycling the recovered ionic liquid to the dissolution step.

  • Publication number: 20250146767
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a shell with a longitudinal axis and helical baffles inside the shell and arranged along the longitudinal axis in an alternating pattern of a first baffle followed by a second baffle of the helical baffles. Each helical baffle includes first holes and second holes that receive tubes. The second holes have a diameter larger than the first holes or there is a clearance between the second holes and the tubes that is greater than a clearance between the first holes and the tubes to intentionally induce an increase in a leakage stream in the spaces between the second holes and the tubes. Such increase in the leakage stream maintains a relatively constant rate of heat transfer while reducing pressure drop, thereby resulting in an improved heat transfer to pressure drop ratio for the heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 11287196
Abstract: A heat exchanger including a shell having a longitudinal axis, a plurality of baffles, such as elliptical sector-shaped baffles, each mounted in the shell at a helix angle HB to guide a fluid flow into a helical pattern through the shell. Each of the plurality of baffles includes an outer circumferential edge, a proximal radial edge, a distal radial edge, a proximal side, a distal side, and a plurality of spaced apart holes that are traversed by a plurality of axially extending tubes. Each of the first plurality of seal strips is disposed from a proximal of the plurality of baffles to a distal of the plurality of baffles.
