The processor comprises a wireless communication interface and is configured to transition the switch between an open configuration and a closed configuration based on signals received by the wireless communication interface from a remote device. A method for charging an EV, for example using the electric vehicle charger adapter, is also disclosed.

    Abstract: Various schemes are provided that facilitate a communication handoff from a current base station to a target base station. One feature provides for reducing the search space that a base station searches by providing it with the position/location and/or velocity of an access terminal with which it attempts to communicate. Having the position and/or velocity of the access terminal, a current or target base station is able to reduce its search space (e.g., direction, frequency range, and/or time window) for the access terminal. Another feature provides for selectively and gradually increasing the power of a pilot signal originating from the access terminal during the handoff acquisition period to a target base station. By increasing the pilot signal power, the base station has a better chance of acquiring the signal and do so more quickly.

    Abstract: At least one feature provides a way to perform point-to-multipoint transmissions using adaptive or directional antennas while reducing antenna pattern distortion. Generally, rather than transmitting the same waveform to two or more receivers, an information-bearing signal is transformed into different decorrelated waveforms and each decorrelated waveform is transmitted to a different receiver. In one implementation, an information-bearing signal is transformed into two decorrelated signals such that their crosscorrelation, or autocorrelation of the information-bearing signal, is zero or very small. Such decorrelation may be achieved by sending a first signal to a first receiver while sending a second signal, having a radio frequency spectrum that is the spectrally inverted version of the first signal, to a second receiver. In another implementation, a first signal is transmitted to a first receiver and is also transmitted to a second receiver with a time delay.

The method comprises the steps of delaying a pseudonoise sequence by a plurality of predetermined delays to produce a plurality of delayed pseudonoise sequences, combining each of the delayed pseudonoise sequences with the data stream to produce a plurality of despread data streams, and accumulating each of the despread data streams for a preselected duration to produce a plurality of coherent sums. Each of the coherent sums are accumulated for a further duration to produce a plurality of non-coherent sums. The non-coherent sums are examined to determine the most likely PN offset hypothesis.

    Abstract: A transceiver system for interfacing digital modems with radio frequency signals including an antenna, an antenna interface system and a modem interface system separated by a cable. The antenna is placed in a location having optimal reception and in close proximity to the antenna interface system. The cable couples the antenna interface system to the modem interface system. The modem interface system includes a two state variable attenuator and an attenuation register that are configured to either reduce the strength of the receive (Rx) signal when the modems are located near a base station, or to transmit the Rx signal without attenuation when the concentrated subscriber unit is at a more distant location. The outgoing, or transmit (Tx), signal is also attenuated in a similar manner to the incoming signal. A signal loss detection system includes a detector located in the modem interface system that receives an oscillating signal transmitted from the antenna interface system through the coaxial cable.

    Abstract: A pulse density modulation circuit has a counter which produces a most significant bit through a least significant bit output based on a clock input. The circuit also has a comparator with two sets of most significant bit through least significant bit inputs that produces an output based on a comparison of the two sets of inputs. The first set of comparator most significant bit through least significant bit inputs receives respectively a most significant bit through a least significant bit of an input reference signal. The second set of comparator most significant bit through least significant bit inputs receives the counter most significant bit through least significant bit output in a non-sequential bit order. The non-sequential bit order can be a bit reversed order wherein the counter most significant bit through least significant bit output are respectively connected to the comparator least significant bit through most significant bit input.
