Abstract: A joint guard for a knee or elbow joint as a flexible cushioned pad positioned over the front of the joint and sized with upper and lower portions extending around the sides of upper and lower limbs joined at the joint. Upper and lower strap fasteners permit a user to adjust the degree of attachment of the upper and lower portions of the pad to the upper and lower limbs. An abrasion resistant shield includes an upper portion secured to the upper pad portion. The shield further has a lower portion secured to the lower pad portion. The shield has a flexible plate extending from the upper portion to the lower shield portion with the plate being disconnected from the pad.

Abstract: A wrist guard is disclosed having first and second rigid members to be positioned over the back and front, respectively of a user's hand. The first and second rigid members are joined by flexible straps to permit an adjustment of a spacing between the first and second rigid member. Each of the first and second rigid members are symmetrical along the longitudinal axes of the first and second rigid members such that the wrist guard can be worn on either the left or right hand of a user without interfering with the flexing of the fingers or thumb of the user.

Abstract: A wrist guard for protecting a wearer's wrist includes a first rigid brace and a second rigid brace. The first rigid brace is sized and positioned to oppose a palm of a user. The second rigid brace is sized and positioned to oppose an upper surface of the user's lower arm. The braces are hinged together and restricted from upward pivotal movement of the first brace relative to the second brace beyond a point of maximum upward bending.
