  • Publication number: 20240156517
Abstract: A device and method for treating female urinary incontinence and also for treating fecal incontinence are presented. A fractional RF grid array is used to heat target tissue to a temperature of about 40-45° C. for a specified period of time, thus stimulating fibroblasts to produce type 1 collagen preferably without producing significant amounts of type 3 collagen. The device includes a temperature sensor and a control circuit to maintain the desired temperature of the target tissue and avoid overheating. Target tissue includes tissue in and around the urethra, and in and around the anus including the perineum. The wand to which the RF grid array is mounted has visible gradations on it so that the user can treat one area at a time, then reliably move the grid array to the next adjacent area even though the grid array is hidden from view inside a portion of the body. The device can also be used for vaginoplasty.

  • Publication number: 20090156987
Abstract: A barrel having a sharp cutting end is inserted into an animal body to form a channel connected to a pocket in the target tissue. A piston head mounted in the barrel has a chamber housing a solid element which contains a substance for treating the target tissue. Means associated with the piston head such as a push rod received in the piston bore is utilized to expel the solid element from the chamber into the pocket. The treating substance such as a capsule containing a liquid, gel or other substance is released from the capsule and coats the target tissue in the pocket.

  • Publication number: 20090155354
Abstract: Body tissue or cavities are treated by inserting a membrane module containing a substance for treating a condition of the cavity or tissue. The substance is enclosed in a membrane that melts, dissolves, or dissipates in the environment of the cavity such as a vagina to release the substance into the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20050242103
Abstract: A drinking cup includes an inner wall with an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner wall includes a thermo-chromatic substance that exhibits a color variance corresponding to a temperature variance in a beverage in the cup that is in contact with the inner wall. An outer wall is disposed about the inner wall that has a transparent area adapted to permit a visual perception of at least a portion of the color variance of the thermo-chromatic substance in or on the inner wall through the outer wall. A thermal insulation layer is disposed between the inner wall and the outer wall.

  • Publication number: 20050241976
Abstract: A flexible container includes a pouch having flexible sidewalls defining therebetween a volume to contain content, the pouch having a fill opening for placing the content in the pouch. The sidewalls are joined to form a side edge of the pouch and a fin flange extends along the side edge. A reclosable seal is disposed below the fill opening for sealing the pouch, with the flexible sidewalls extending above the seal at a side edge opposite the fin flange to form a pour spout.
