  • Publication number: 20150266121
Abstract: A gear grinding apparatus comprises a work-piece stand, a tool stand, a grinding wheel assembly and a modification assembly. The work-piece stand has a first shaft to hold and rotate an unmodified gear. The tool stand is movable along a first axial direction against the work-piece stand and includes a slide member. The grinding wheel assembly is located on the slide member to grind the unmodified gear. The modification assembly is located on the slide member above the grinding wheel assembly and includes a rotary member rotatably mounted on the slide member and having a second shaft rotatable about an axis intersecting the second axial direction at an angle smaller than ninety degrees, a trimmer and a movable arm interposed between the rotary member and trimmer. The trimmer has an oblique deviation displacement and a tool modification displacement. The invention formed can reduce production cost and shrink apparatus size.

  • Publication number: 20140213156
Abstract: A method for modifying plunge shaving cutters aims to modify a plunge shaving cutter through a grinding tool. The plunge shaving cutter has a plurality of helical teeth spaced from each other. The helical teeth have a machining-intended side. The method of modification includes the steps of: positioning the plunge shaving cutter on a gear forming grinder with the machining-intended side in contact with the grinding tool; moving the plunge shaving cutter according to a variable rotation amount and a first variable movement amount; moving the grinding tool according to a second variable movement amount to perform a helical movement against the plunge shaving cutter and a modification process on the machining-intended side. Thus the existing gear forming grinder can be applied to the plunge shaving cutter for machining to improve machining speed.

  • Publication number: 20130237133
Abstract: A grinder equipped with a curved motion mechanism to process a working piece to form a double-envelope structure includes a grinding wheel, a driving shaft, a track bracket and a holder. The grinding wheel includes a grinding edge which has a grinding zone in contact with the working piece. The driving shaft drives the grinding wheel spinning. The track bracket holds the driving shaft and is movable in a curved motion against the holder. The driving shaft is coupled with the track bracket via a middle section and driven by the curved motion to tilt against the holder and oscillate about the grinding zone of the grinding wheel as an oscillation center. Thus the invention can process the working piece at varying angles to form a worm with the double-envelope structure and improve process precision.

  • Publication number: 20130238272
Abstract: A touch trigger probe is used to determine whether contacts with a workpiece and contains a sleeve, a sensing segment and a transmitting segment. The sleeve extends along an axial direction and includes a first chamber and a second chamber communicating with the first chamber. The sensing segment includes a sensing end extending out of the sleeve and a driving end far from the sensing end. The transmitting segment is pushed by the driving end to move in the second chamber to a triggering position from an original position relative to the sleeve, and includes a driven end protruded axially and capable of contacting with the driving end. Thereby, as the touch trigger probe of the invention has a swing sensing travel for lateral contact and an elevation sensing travel for longitudinal contact, excessive sensing elements can be avoided to lower production costs and obtain positioning precision.
