  • Publication number: 20080278423
Abstract: A driving method to improve response time of twisted nematic (TN) and super twisted nematic (STN) passive matrix LCDs without increasing graphic memory (GRAM) adopts an over-driving operation principle to convert data of three primary colors to YCbCr data and over-driving YCbCr data. Then compressing, sampling and combining are performed through a video compression standard to further reduce a portion of storage bits of the YCbCr data and over-driving YCbCr data. Through an output frequency doubling circuit an over-driving compensation potential higher or lower than the original output potential is flexibly given N times according to the over-driving Y?Cb?Cr? data within the update time period of each data bus. Thereby the response time of the LCDs improves without increasing the GRAM and dynamic picture blurring phenomenon also improves.

  • Publication number: 20080198113
Abstract: The present invention discloses a driving method for reducing the response time of TN LCD and STN LCD, wherein a dynamic picture judgment mechanism is arranged behind the RGB data bus and used to compare the current picture with the previous picture; if the pictures are different, an over-driving compensation voltage is output N times within each refresh time of the data bus, and the over-driving compensation voltage is flexibly higher or lower than the original output voltage. Thereby, the liquid crystal can twist to attain the target brightness within a shorter time. Therefore, the present invention can solve the problem of the blurring phenomenon resulting from a too long response time of PM-LCD (such as TN LCD and STN LCD).

  • Publication number: 20080106540
Abstract: The present invention discloses an over-driving compensation method to shorten the response time of a passive matrix liquid crystal display, wherein N frames are arranged into a super-frame; the data of the current frame is compared with the data of the previous frame; once the data of the current frame is different from the data of the previous frame, the pictures are determined to be moving pictures; and when the pictures are determined to be moving pictures, an over-driving voltage, which is higher/lower than the traditional high-level driving voltage/the traditional low-level driving voltage, is assigned to each of from the ith frame to the jth frame of each super-frame. Thereby, the liquid crystal can faster approach or reach the specified target brightness. So the blurring of moving pictures will be greatly reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070223179
Abstract: A fingerprint recognition smart card includes an electronic card and a fingerprint recognizer. The electric card is insertable into a card slot of an electronic device and comprises a circuit board with an electric connector for electric connection with the electronic device into which the electronic card is inserted, and a receiving open chamber at one side opposite to the electric connector. The fingerprint recognizer, is electrically connected to the circuit board of the electronic card through a flexible bus line and movable in and out of the receiving open chamber between an extended position for use and a received position when not in use.
