    Abstract: An LED lamp assembly includes a pole-shaped major lamp, an auxiliary lamp fixed on a top of the major lamp and a rechargeable battery mounted in the auxiliary lamp. The auxiliary lamp includes a lamp shell, a plurality of LED components accommodated in the lamp shell and a solar panel mounted thereon. A plurality of light-outputting windows are defined in a sidewall of the lamp shell. The rechargeable battery is charged by the solar panel. The major lamp is powered by electrical power from a power plant. The LED components of the auxiliary lamp are powered by the rechargeable battery to generate light radiating outside of the lamp shell through the light-outputting windows.

The LED device includes a cylinder-shaped casing having opposite first and second openings and air venting holes near the first opening. An LED module and a heat dissipating fan are respectively mounted at two ends of a heat sink. The LED module, the heat sink and the heat dissipating fan are assembled together as a unit, which is received in the casing. An airflow generated by the heat dissipating fan is directed into the casing through the second opening. A portion of the airflow is exhausted out of the casing through fins of the heat sink and the first opening, and another portion of the airflow is exhausted out of the casing through the fins and the air venting holes of the casing.

A plurality of fins (14) extend inwardly from an inner wall of the heat sink in a manner such that a through hole (16) is enclosed by the fins, thereby providing an airflow passage axially through the heat sink. By the use of the heat pipes, heat generated by the LED modules can be transferred to the heat sink evenly, whereby the heat can be dispersed to ambient air efficiently and rapidly.

The heat absorbing portion has opposite first and second surfaces. The heat dissipating portion extends rearwards from the first surface of the heat absorbing portion. An outmost end of the heat dissipating portion defines a plurality of apertures and is located beyond an outmost end of the heat absorbing portion. The heat dissipating portions of the heat sinks are oriented towards each other and define a channel therebetween. The LED modules are mounted at the second surfaces the heat absorbing portions. Heat generated by the LED modules is absorbed by the heat absorbing portions and then transferred to the apertures and the channel via the heat dissipating portions, from where the heat is dissipated to surrounding air.
