The full-bridge driving controller switches four full-bridge transistor switches at an operating frequency higher than the resonant frequency, so as to achieve the function of soft switch.

    Abstract: A LED (Light-Emitting Diode) driving circuit including at least one light-emitting unit and a protection detecting circuit, is provided. Each light-emitting unit includes an LED string coupled to a driving voltage, a current regulator and a transistor. The current regulator is coupled to a corresponding LED string and controls a current flowing therethrough. The transistor is coupled between the LED string and the current regulator. The protection detecting circuit generates a clamping reference level signal to a control terminal of the at least one transistor and is coupled to a connection node of the at least one transistor and the at least one LED string. When a voltage of any connection node is higher than a preset protection value, the protection detecting circuit decreases the clamping reference value to reduce or cut off the current of the at least one LED string.

An operating state of the controlled transistor is changed in response to the control signal. The power sequencing free circuit is coupled to the controlled end and one of the first input/output end and the second voltage source. When the second voltage source is supplied before the first voltage source, the power sequencing free circuit turns on the controlled transistor to clamp the power-good signal to be lower than a predetermined voltage level.

A resonant controller generates a clock signal and adjusts an operating frequency of the clock signal in response to the feedback signal for modulating the output voltage of the resonant circuit. The resonant controller includes a resonance deviation protection unit which detects the current detecting signal according to a phase of the clock signal to determine whether the resonant circuit enters a region of zero current switching or not. When the resonant circuit enters the region of zero current switching, the resonant controller executes a corresponding protection process in response to that the resonant controller operates in a starting mode or a normal operating mode.

The constant on time control circuit comprises a comparing circuit and a logic circuit. The comparing circuit compares a reference signal and a voltage signal indicative of the output voltage and accordingly outputs a compared result signal. The logic circuit periodically controls the converting circuit to perform voltage transformation and makes a time period of a duty cycle in every cycle being substantially constant. A start point in time of every cycle is determined according to the compared result signal. The comparing circuit comprises a differential pair, a base current source and an extra current source. The base current source provides a bias current to the differential pair. The extra current source provides a substantial ramp current to one channel in the differential pair.
