  • Publication number: 20100201317
Abstract: A battery charging controlling apparatus for balancing voltages of the charged batteries is provided. The battery charging controlling includes a battery reference voltage generating unit, a voltage balancing unit, and a balance judging unit. The battery charging controlling apparatus determines whether a battery voltage difference between any two adjacent battery units of a battery module is too large or not by using a reference voltage provided from the battery reference voltage generating unit. The battery charging controlling apparatus further detects the voltage of the battery module and a charging current thereto to determine a suitable time for balancing the charged batteries. Then, the voltage balancing unit controlled by the balance judging unit allows the charging current of the lower-voltage battery unit greater than the charging current of the higher-voltage battery, unit so as to lower the battery voltage difference of the battery units.

  • Publication number: 20100141209
Abstract: The present invention discloses a battery charging controller for balancing the charged batteries. The battery charging controller comprises a battery reference voltage generator, a voltage balancing module and a balance judging circuit. The battery charging controller determines which one has the lower voltage between battery units of a battery module according to reference voltages generated by the battery reference voltage generator. The voltage balancing module controlled by the balance judging circuit allows the charging current of the lower-voltage battery larger than the charging current of the higher-voltage battery in such that the final voltages of the battery units are substantially equaled when they are completely saturated.

  • Publication number: 20100141159
Abstract: The present invention provides an LED driving circuit with temperature compensation, comprising a power transforming circuit, an LED module and a controller. The transforming circuit receives an electrical power from an input power source and transforms it into an output voltage according to a control signal. The LED module is coupled to the transforming circuit. The controller generates the control signal according to an operation temperature and a voltage feedback signal indicative of the output voltage, and makes the output voltage decrease with increasing operation temperature. Therefore, the LED driving circuit of the present invention has an effect of temperature compensation that compensates the influence of the decreased driving voltage of the LED module due to temperature.

  • Publication number: 20100084983
Abstract: An LED driving circuit is provided for driving an LED module, comprising a transistor switch and a feedback controller. The transistor switch has a control terminal, a first terminal, and a second terminal. The first terminal is coupled to the LED module and the control terminal receives a control signal for controlling a current passing through the transistor switch. The feedback controller receives a reference voltage and a current detecting signal indicative of the magnitude of the current and generates the control signal accordingly. The feedback controller is connected to a driving power source with level higher than the level of the first terminal of the transistor switch. Hence, the maximum level of an adjustable range of the control signal is higher than the first terminal of the transistor switch.

  • Publication number: 20090322235
Abstract: An LED driving circuit is used for dimming by switching between an operating current and a maintaining current or by voltage clamping of a source/drain of MOSFET that is coupled to the LED module. When the LED module is dimmed off, the voltage across the LED module can be kept at a value around a lighting threshold voltage of the LED module that is a minimum voltage for lighting the LED module. Therefore, a voltage difference between the drain and the source of MOSFET coupled to the LED module is smaller than that in the conventional arts. Hence, a withstand voltage of MOSFET can be reduced, and cost of the LED driving circuit as well as the power consumption of MOSFET can be lessened, thereby improving integral efficiency of the circuit.

  • Publication number: 20090315515
Abstract: The present invention discloses a battery charging controller for achieving a balanced battery charge. The battery charging controller includes a voltage divider, a switch module and a balance circuit. A reference voltage generated by the voltage divide is used to determine which battery unit in a battery module has an insufficient voltage lower than the others, so that the balance circuit controls the switch module to allow a larger current to charge a lower-voltage battery than a higher-voltage battery, so as to result in substantially the same voltage for each fully charged battery of the battery module.

  • Patent number: 7429945
Abstract: The invention relates to an analog-to-digital converter comprising a reference voltage generating circuit, two coarse/fine comparators and two encoders for encoding the comparison result of the two coarse/fine comparators. In the invention, the two coarse/fine comparators processes a coarse comparison procedure and a fine comparison procedure on an input voltage in different clock cycle, thus, a sampling voltage error caused by an error of sampling time decreases. In another aspect of the invention, the capacitance of the input capacitor of the analog-to-digital converter decreases because the comparators for coarse comparison and fine comparison are the same, thus, a large power amplifier is not required for driving the input capacitor.
