  • Publication number: 20240002028
Abstract: [Problem] In a reduction and reversing gear unit in which hydraulic oil is supplied to a generator motor or the like as cooling oil by a hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor, which is separate from the generator motor, a problem of a noise generated by fully driving the hydraulic pump and the electric motor at all time is solved by assuming a high hydraulic oil temperature when a maximum load acts on the generator motor.

  • Publication number: 20220289355
Abstract: In a marine propulsion apparatus that transmits power of at least one of an internal combustion engine (ICE) and a generator motor (GM) mounted on a ship to a propeller via a forward reverse switching mechanism, the marine propulsion apparatus can be downsized as a whole. The marine propulsion apparatus includes a connection switching mechanism capable of selectively connecting the GM to an upstream side and a downstream side of the power transmission from the ICE in the forward reverse switching mechanism. Then, the forward reverse switching mechanism is interposed between the ICE and the connection switching mechanism, and a large torque from the ICE is not directly transmitted to the connection switching mechanism. As a result, it is not necessary to increase the capacity of the connection switching mechanism, and the connection switching mechanism and thus the marine propulsion apparatus can be downsized.

  • Patent number: 9825559
Abstract: A motor control system includes a drive motor and a deck motor that are connected to a battery, an ECU, and a key switch. The key switch acquires that an operation unit has been turned on, and transmits a restart permission signal to the ECU. When SOC of the battery reaches or falls below a first threshold set in advance, the ECU performs a step of disabling all the motors, and when the restart permission signal is received, the ECU performs a step of executing a decelerated travelling mode where the disabled state of the drive motor is released and an allowed speed of the drive motor is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20170285645
Abstract: A watercraft steering system includes a reverse reduction transmission and an obstacle detector. The reverse reduction transmission is configured to convert power from a main engine into an output for causing a watercraft to make forward travel, neutral, or reverse travel, so as to control navigation of the watercraft. The obstacle detector is disposed at a hull of the watercraft and is configured to detect an obstacle. The watercraft steering system is configured to, based on a location of the obstacle with respect to the hull, a travel direction of the watercraft, a travel speed of the watercraft, and a distance between the hull and the obstacle, select from among the forward travel, the neutral, and the reverse travel, and maintain the travel speed or change the travel speed.

  • Patent number: 7794296
Abstract: A method to assemble a marine drive system wherein an acceptable-unacceptable criterion on the torsional vibration of a shaft of the marine drive system is established based on the correlation between the torsional stiffness of a propeller shaft and the moment of inertia of a propeller. A desirable elastic coupling for the marine drive shaft is selected based on the criterion. The marine drive system is assembled by using a flywheel, a marine reverse and reduction gear, and an elastic coupling, whose property is changeable, lying between an input shaft of the marine reverse and reduction gear and the flywheel.
