  • Patent number: 8182305
Abstract: Provided is a manufacturing method to prevent devitrification of a bulb in a high pressure discharge lamp used for a projector. The method is for manufacturing a high pressure discharge lamp which uses, as a light source, a bulb made of fused quartz and including a tungsten electrode, and which is horizontally installed when the lamp is driven for actual use. The method includes the step of initially driving the bulb with an optical axis thereof being set horizontally before the high pressure discharge lamp is shipped. In the initial driving step, the rotation angle around the optical axis of the bulb is offset by 45° or more and 135° or less relative to the rotation angle around the optical axis of the bulb when the lamp is driven for actual use.

  • Patent number: 7502294
Abstract: Information recording and playback apparatus, content management method, and content management program. When data of copyright-protected content is recorded in a general-purpose HDD, illegal copying of the content is prevented. Each time when content is recorded in the HDD and when content recorded in the HDD is moved to a Blu-ray disc (BD), a random number output section outputs unique verification information (a random number) and overwrites the unique verification information in the corresponding verification files of the HDD and an EEPROM. Then, when the content recorded in the HDD is to be moved to the BD, a verification section verifies the verification information (random number) recorded in the verification file of the HDD against the verification information (the random number) recorded in the verification file of the EEPROM, and permits the movement of the associated content only when they match.

  • Patent number: 6401228
Abstract: A data decoding apparatus and the method and a data reproduction apparatus which reduces capacity of a memory used for decoding and speedily accesses to data to be read. In a data decoding apparatus (50) and the method which decodes coded data (S2) which is recorded in a recording medium (2), the coded data (S2) read from the recording medium (2) is stored in a memory used for decoding (51), data information of data to be read is detected from decoded data which is generated in the middle of decoding the coded data (S2), the data information is stored in a data information storage means and the output of decoded data (S10) is controlled on the based on the data information, thereby the output of the decoded data (S10) is controlled based on the data information independent of decoding of the coded data (S2).

  • Patent number: 5886654
Abstract: Decoding apparatus and method set interpolation flags in units smaller than an ECC block. The PI1 flag indicating an error on a row-by-row basis is generated for the first error correction result, while the PI2 flag also indicating an error on a row-by-row basis is generated for the second error correction result in the ECC block. The PO flag indicating an error on a column-by-column basis is further generated for the error correction result in the ECC block. Following these processing operations, the PI1, PI2 and PO flags are used for generating the interpolation flags.
