  • Patent number: 7357884
Abstract: A conductive ink composition is obtained by dispersing, in an organic solvent, a solid material made from metal fine particles each coated with protective colloids each made of at least two organic compounds, the metal fine particles consisting of an alloy containing at least a noble metal. Each of the protective colloids is made from, e.g., a raw material containing an (A) amine and a (B) carboxylic acid. By applying and baking the conductive ink composition, grain growth is restrained. This allows acquirement of a metal film whose surface smoothness is excellent, and whose adhesiveness to an application target is improved as compared with that of a metal film made from a conventional conductive ink composition.

  • Patent number: 6171710
Abstract: A layer is provided for bonding a conductive plating to a substrate which substrate normally does not provide firm bonding of plating directly thereto. The bonding layer forms a matrix in which are dispersed ultrafine metal particles. The bonding layer is formed in situ on the substrate surface with the metal particles being maintained unaggregated in the matrix as it is formed on the surface. Plating subsequently formed on the outer surface of the bonding layer is effectively firmly bonded to the substrate through the intermediary of the matrix and metal particles distributed therein. The bonding layer includes a fixative formed of an organic compound including a metal and an organic solvent. The bonding layer may further include a film strengthener.

  • Patent number: 6099897
Abstract: A method of producing metal particles, including the steps of forming a membrane of a polymer or oligomer which has, at the terminals of its molecule and/or in the side chains thereof, at least one functional group selected from cyano, amino and thiol groups, and depositing a metal on the membrane through vapor deposition so that the membrane has particles of the metal and/or its oxide dispersed therein.

  • Patent number: 6068939
Abstract: A method for producing a colored and fired film formed on a substrate having an improved chemical resistance includes the steps of applying a coloring composition onto a substrate so as to form a film, coating the surface of the film with a coating agent, and firing the film and the coating agent. The coloring composition comprises ultra-fine particles of at least one precious metal selected from the group consisting of Au, Pt, Pd, Rh and Ag, a fixing agent comprising an organic metal compound, a binder resin, a glass network forming component formed of an organic compound containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Si, B and P, and an organic solvent.
