Patent number: 8118155Abstract: In sorting workpieces by using a panel sorting device, a lateral movement amount of a cross shuttle is approximately half of a width W of the workpiece, which is remarkably smaller than that in a conventional device. Therefore, the workpieces can be efficiently transferred to the panel chute in a short cycle time, thereby improving the productivity of a press line. Further, since the workpieces are transferred to two lateral places adjacent to each other on the panel chute and the laterally adjacent workpieces are not unnecessarily separated from each other, the size of the panel chute can be reduced. This, along with the small movement amount of the cross shuttle, enables the whole panel sorting device to be reduced in size and the installation space for the panel sorting device to be also reduced.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2007Date of Patent: February 21, 2012Assignees: Komatsu Ltd., Oyabe SEIKI Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shigekazu Noda, Masaya Ito

Patent number: 6622850Abstract: With an advancing motion, finger plates together with stationary transfer bars are moved to positions where uprights are not in the way, and finally the finger plates disengaged from the stationary transfer bars are held by plate holding members to be discharged to an area where preparatory work is conducted externally of a transfer feeder, together with movable transfer bars. Accordingly, inherent motions of the transfer feeder are made use of to shunt the finger plates, and as compared with the case where the finger plates are disengaged from the stationary transfer bars at standstill to shunt, cylinders for movement and guide rails are dispensed with to enable attaining light weight and the transfer feeder is enhanced in operating rate.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2002Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventor: Shigekazu Noda

Patent number: 5676518Abstract: An unstacking feeder capable of unstacking sheet materials efficiently from a sheet stack has a sheet stack transfer device (3) for transferring a sheet stack, which consists of a plurality of stacked sheet materials (1a), along a circulating transport configuration extending across a predetermined unstacking position (A). In order to separate individual sheet materials from a sheet stack in order, a floater (6) is selected and supplied automatically in accordance with the configuration of the sheet materials by a floater supply mechanism (5, 7, 7d). Each unstacked sheet material is transferred to equipment in the subsequent stage, such as a transfer feeder by sheet material transporting arrangements (11, 19). During this period, each sheet material (1a) separated by the floater (6) is transferred onto a sheet material transporting arrangement by a sheet material transfer device (9).Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1995Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Komatsu SeisakushoInventors: Yasunori Okubo, Shigekazu Noda
