  • Patent number: 5697396
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved air feed valve to be attached to an underwater suit, responsive to a water pressure P measured at a selected point A of the underwater suit for permitting air to flow to the inside of the underwater suit at a predetermined flow rate from an associated compressed air cylinder via its primary pressure-reduction valve and tube, thereby keeping the inner air pressure of the underwater suit at a given value. The air feed valve is set for operation so as to feed air at such a flow rate that the inner air pressure of the underwater suit may be kept at a pressure lower than the pressure P-.sub..DELTA. P measured at a position A-X which is closer by a given distance X to the water surface than the selected point A of the underwater suit.

  • Patent number: 5447457
Abstract: A swim fin has a footwear made of flexible material to make walking easier and a support which is made of rigid material to provide rigidity. A fin is pivotally coupled to the support so that it can rotate between a locked swim position and a walk position. The support can either be permanently attached to the footwear, or removably coupled to a fitting which is permanently attached to the footwear. Extension devices can be provided so that the swim position can be unlocked from the user's knee, without the user having to bend. The shape of the fin is designed to eliminate overlapping with the other fin when the user is walking.

  • Patent number: 4896380
Abstract: Disclosed is a facemask equipped with earplugs which permits wearers to hear clearly sounds underwater or hear others to speak to each other. The earplugs can be easily removed from their ears after finishing scuba diving. Thus, scuba diving will increase fun. As a matter of course, wearers will not suffer from bradyacusia, and they will have no fear of losing the sense of balance by allowing cold water to reach the semicircular canals of the inner ear while swimming underwater.
