  • Patent number: 6145841
Abstract: A high sealability mechanical seal which has a small-volume mating ring, which highly efficiently transmits the shaft's revolving force to the mating ring, and which has a minimal load variation on the sliding face. The gist of the present invention is in a mechanical seal where the bellows is made of rubber; a coiled wave spring which is a spirally wound narrow thin strip is interposed in a compressed state between the end of the seal ring side of the bellows and a middle wall of the roughly U-shaped cross-sectional cartridge; and the other end of the bellows is mounted, on the inner circumferential side of the coiled wave spring, via a driving band in the inner circumferential casing of said roughly U-shaped cross-sectional cartridge.

  • Patent number: 5920594
Abstract: In a transversal filter for filtering an input signal (IN) into an output signal (OUT) in response to first through third tap gains (C.sub.-1, C.sub.0, C.sub.1), the transversal filter comprises a serial-parallel converter (40) for converting the input signal into first and second parallel converted signals. Connected to the serial-parallel converter, a delay circuit (10) has first through fourth taps (11-14) and comprises a plurality of delay units (16, 17) each of which is connected between two taps selected from the first through the fourth taps. Each of the delay units provides twice a unit delay which is substantially equal to a reciprocal of an input data rate of the input signal. The first through the fourth taps of the delay circuit produce first through fourth tap signals, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5880629
Abstract: The demodulator of this invention is directed toward improving S/N ratio of the demodulator resulting from increase in the peak value of a received signal due to fading. The demodulator is composed of a roll-off filter (not shown), variable amplifier 16, multiplier 10, compressor 11, variable dynamic range analog/digital converter 12, transversal filter 13, expander 14, tap coefficient control circuit 15, and signal level detector 17. Signal level detector 17 detects the magnitude of waveform distortion from the output of tap coefficient control circuit 15 and controls the gain of variable amplifier 16 and the dynamic range of analog/digital converter 12, thereby reducing nonlinear distortion in multiplier 10 that is caused by increases in the peak value due to waveform distortion.

  • Patent number: 5075697
Abstract: A dual polarization transmission system for transmitting digital modulated signal each having a particular bandwidth by use of two polarized waves which have the same center frequency and are orthogonal to each other. The receiver side of the system demodulates radio frequency signals sent by a horizontally and a vertically polarized wave and coming in through a receiving antenna into IF signals. From the received signal of one polarization, an interference component of the other polarization generated on the basis of the cross-polar IF signal or demodulated signal is removed.

  • Patent number: 4870646
Abstract: For establishing word synchronization between a data bit stream of N-bit words and the timing of syndrome calculation, a count value is incremented in response to the bit timing of the words and generating a hunting pulse for every count of N bits and a load timing pulse at every count of C bits. Syndrome calculation is performed on the N-bit words in response to the hunting pulse to derive a syndrome when each of the N-bit words is out of synchronization with the timing of the calculation. The syndrome is latched for a word interval and a first enabling signal is generated in response to the latching of the syndrome. Syndrome generating words are counted to generate a second enabling signal when the count provides a valid indication that the word timing of the calculation is out of sync with the data bit stream.
