  • Publication number: 20060044639
Abstract: A method of 3D holographic recording by using a very simple optical system comprises: dividing a femto-second laser pulse into a plurality of light beams by a diffraction beam splitter (3), focusing four light beams selected from the divided plurality of light beam, and further focusing these four light beams into a sample (7) comprised of a photosensitive material capable of multi-photon exposure so that the photosensitive material is exposed to the interference among the four light beams and multi-photon absorption in the sample (7) is induced, thus recording a 3D phase hologram on the irradiated portion of the sample (7).

Abstract: A method of 3D holographic recording by using a very simple optical system comprises: dividing a femto-second laser pulse into a plurality of light beams by a diffraction beam splitter (3), focusing four light beams selected from the divided plurality of light beam, controlling each optical phase of the selected four light beams by a phase retarder (8). and further focusing these four light beams into a sample (7?) comprised of a photosensitive material capable of multi-photon exposure so that the photosensitive material is exposed to the interference among the four light beams and multi-photon absorption in the sample (7?) is induced, thus recording a 3D phase hologram on the irradiated portion of the sample (7?).

  • Patent number: 6702324
Abstract: A knee bolster for absorbing the impact to the knees of the occupant of a car involved in crash and controlling the posture of the occupant by receiving the knee load includes a pair of left and right panels (1) disposed to oppose to the knees, upper stays (2) provided to each of the panels (1), each upper stay having its rear portion fixed to the upper area of the corresponding panel (1), lower stays (3) provided to each of the panels (1), each lower stay having its lower portion fixed to the lower area of the corresponding panel (1) and its upper portion fixed to the front end of the corresponding upper stay (2), and a connecting member (4) for connecting the resulting pair of deltoid bodies. The bodies are disposed side by side and spaced apart when connected to the connecting member (4). Preferably, the upper and lower stays (2, 3) are arced, and the curvature radius of the lower stays (3) is smaller than that of the upper stays (2).

  • Patent number: 6381554
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of prediction time-series continuous data in which the data is accurately predicted based on measuring points and measured values at the measuring points of the data. From past measuring points t0 to t3 before a prediction point t4, a closest measuring point t3 which is closest to the prediction point t4 is sampled. Past n measuring points before the closest measuring point t3 are also sampled. Subsequently, a predicted value Q4 is determined from an interpolation formula f(t), which can derive a measured value Q3 at the closest measuring point t3 from the closest measuring point t3, i.e., Q3=f(t3) which is prepared from the past n measuring points, the measured values, the prediction point t4 and the predicted value Q4. The method can be implemented in a controller.

  • Patent number: 5927755
Abstract: The knee bolster structure to be mounted on an instrument panel 13 comprises a panel 2 and a stay 3 for supporting the panel 2, while the stay 3 is composed of a stay main body 4 and patch 5 so disposed on the stay main body 4 as to cover the stay main body 4. In a vehicle collision, the stay 3 is deformed starting from notches 8 respectively formed in the stay main body 4 but, during the deformation of the stay 3, the leading end side 11 of a top plate 9 provided in the patch 5 is butted against the bottom surface 6 of the stay main body 4, thereby being able to prevent stresses from being concentrated onto the notches 8. Also, since the wall portions 7 of the stay main body 4 are held by the side walls 10 of the patch 5, they are prevented from being opened outwardly. Due to this structure, the drag of the stay 3 or the knee bolster structure can be stabilized, so that shock energy caused in the vehicle collision can be absorbed efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5666133
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for driving a liquid crystal display unit, in particular, a method for driving an active matrix type liquid crystal display unit using a thin-film transistor as a switching element. According to the drive method, a plurality of scanning signal power voltages of which levels vary in synchronization with inversion in polarity of an image signal are input to a scanning signal supply circuit, and any of the plural scanning signal power voltages is selected to serve as a scanning signal. Otherwise, some scanning signal power voltages of which levels vary in synchronization with inversion in polarity of the image signal and some scanning signal power voltages of which levels are invariable are input to the scanning signal supply circuit, and any of the plural scanning signal power voltages is selected to serve as a scanning signal.
