  • Patent number: 8115350
Abstract: A specific condition for enhancing the power generation efficiency of an oscillation type electromagnetic power generator is disclosed. Solenoid coils constituting the oscillation type electromagnetic power generator are wound in directions opposite to each other with a predetermined coil gap therebetween. Adjacent magnets of a movable magnet are connected to each other via a spacer having a predetermined thickness in such a manner that poles with the same polarity are opposed to each other. A coil pitch which is the total dimension of the coil length of one solenoid coil and the coil gap and a magnet pitch which is the total dimension of the magnet length of one magnet of the movable magnet and the thickness of the spacer are almost equal to each other, and the coil length is shorter than the magnet length.

  • Publication number: 20060130316
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved magnetic disk drive manufacturing method that is to be employed during an interval between magnetic disk drive assembly completion and shipment. In one embodiment, a magnetic disk drive has an interface connector. The magnetic disk drive is retained by a shock absorber so that the interface connector is exposed. A testing side connector mounted on a base plate is connected to the interface connector of the magnetic disk drive that is retained by the shock absorber. A host apparatus transfers a test/adjustment program to the magnetic disk drive via the testing side connector. The magnetic disk drive executes the test/adjustment program.

  • Patent number: 6336202
Abstract: A data storage system, a storage medium and a method of controlling a data storage system are described, which allow defects on a storage medium to be handled with a memory region of a reduced size. In one embodiment defective sectors are determined on a magnetic disk and recorded in a defect map as a starting address and a number (length) of consecutive defective sectors to more efficiently record defective sector bursts than in the prior art. Optionally a mixed format defect map may record defective sector bursts as above and single sector defects as an address without a number of consecutive defective sectors.
