  • Patent number: 5898993
Abstract: An object of the invention is to quickly supply inexpensive large current terminals without entailing complicated metal-working process and labor. Further, another object thereof is to provide methods of metal-working such terminals. A large current male terminal is constructed by forming a hollow cylindrical electric contact part on one end of a conductive pipe, a hollow cylindrical wire crimping part on the other end thereof, and a collar between the electric contact part and the wire crimping part. The electric contact part has a substantially conical nose and is formed by squeezing one end of the conductive pipe in such a manner that the diameter of the one end is gradually reduced frontward. The wire crimping part has such an inner diameter as to allow a wire to be inserted thereinto.

  • Patent number: 5749747
Abstract: A partial-fitting prevention connector which can be positively fitted relative to a mating connector, and is prevented from being only partially fitted relative to the mating connector. When the partial-fitting prevention connector (1) is fitted relative to a mating connector (2), a retaining member (25), formed on a lock member (22), abuts against a retaining projection (34) formed on the mating connector (2), and the lock member (22) is pushed against the bias of a spring (23) in a rearward direction away from the mating connector. After the lock member has moved a predetermined distance, lock release projections (26a and 26b), formed on the lock member (22), slide over lock release projections (42a and 42b) formed on a support structure (41), thereby pivotally moving the lock member (22).

  • Patent number: 5743760
Abstract: A connector assembly comprises a first connector housing with a flexible locking arm, and a second connector housing having an engaging section which is provided for the flexible locking arm. In the first connector housing, a shorting contactor including an elastic contact plate is set in a displacement permitting space provided for the flexible locking arm in such a manner that the elastic contact plate is displaced in association with the displacement of the flexible locking arm. In the second connector housing, a pair of engagement detecting metal terminals are provided in confrontation with the shorting contactor. When the first and second connector housings are incompletely engaged with each other, the shorting contactor is not contact with the engagement detecting metal terminals by the displacement of elastic contact plate which is due to the displacement of the flexible locking arm.
