  • Patent number: 5584752
Abstract: A pair of supporting arms are rotatably attached to both ends of a fixed shaft. A supporting shaft extends across forward ends of the supporting arms and in parallel to the fixed shaft. A grinding roller on which an abrasive tape is arranged, and guide rollers sandwiching it are attached to this shaft. Axial centers of the grinding roller and the guide rollers are in an eccentric state. Thus when the guide rollers contact a color filter, a gap is given between the grinding roller and the color filter, and projections can be ground corresponding to the gap.

  • Patent number: 5531632
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a surface of a member to be ground in which feelers are disposed on, or in close proximity to, the surface of the member to be ground, a sensor detects the displacement of the feeler as a projection on the member to be ground comes into contact with the feeler when the member to be ground is moved, and the projection is detected by an output signal from the sensor and an amount of movement of the member to be ground. An automatic inspection/grinding apparatus for grinding a projection is also disclosed. Projections and the like on the surface of the member to be ground, such as a color filter, can be detected and ground accurately and simply.

  • Patent number: 5408288
Abstract: A lens-fitted photographic film unit has a film supply chamber preloaded with unexposed photographic film. A cassette-containing chamber contains a film cassette. The film after exposure is wound on a spool of the cassette. The film unit is provided with a mechanism for exposing the film in a succession of frames. An axial hole is formed in an upper end of the spool. Knurled inner teeth are formed inside the axial hole. A wind-up wheel is mounted on the film unit over the cassette-containing chamber to be externally operable for rotation. A drive shaft on the wind-up wheel protrudes into the cassette-containing chamber, and is received in the axial hole. Knurled outer teeth about the drive shaft mesh with the inner teeth on the spool. The drive shaft and spool will thus mesh with each other in any relatively rotated position thereof, which avoids loss of usable film.

  • Patent number: 5246521
Abstract: A pair of teremps of a knitted structure are bonded to a blank of a shell plate of a film cartridge. A pair of teremps in continuous lengths is conveyed in the longitudinal direction thereof with the piled side of each of the teremps kept in contact with a locator member. The teremps in continuous lengths are bonded to opposite side edges of the blank and then cut to conform to the blank. Before they are brought into contact with the locator members, the teremps in continuous lengths are subjected to a process in which the pile is substantially uniformly oriented rearward at an angle with respect to the direction in which the teremps are conveyed.

  • Patent number: 5145065
Abstract: A package for a photographic film cartridge which comprises a paper tube treated with a moistureproofing treatment. The paper tube contains a photographic film cartridge and has moistureproof caps fitted to both end openings of the paper tube. The inside surface of the moistureproof caps is joined to the inside or outside surface of the paper tube by thermal adhesion. In this package, since the package is composed of a naturally decomposable paper tube as the main material, the package can be made compact and lightweight, and waste treatment is easy.

  • Patent number: 4221145
Abstract: A running web cutting device in which a vertically movable cutter is driven by a crank mechanism. A reciprocating stand holding an upper cutting edge and lower cutting edge is provided in such a manner to be moved in the direction of advancement of a web by a reciprocating guide. The upper and lower cutting edges are driven through the same crank shaft coupled to a cutter driving motor. A value J (J=J Wo/To where J is the conversion inertial moment of a driving motor including a load, Wo is the rated speed thereof, and To is the rated torque thereof) of said cutter driving motor is represented by J.sub.C while a value J of a web feeding motor driving a web feeding drum is represented by J.sub.F. The cutter driving motor and the web feeding motor are chosen so that J.sub.C smaller than J.sub.F.

  • Patent number: 4217744
Abstract: A packaging machine in which a belt-shaped packaging sheet fed continuously is cut to a predetermined length while being guided and conveyed in a direction intersecting the conveyance direction of articles to be packaged. Position detectors detect the arrival of the top end of said packaging sheet, detect the arrival of each article at a position before the position where said article crosses said packaging sheet and the arrival of the top end of the packaging sheet returned from the feeding limit position by being moved as said article abuts against said packaging sheet and is further conveyed, at a predetermined reverse return position. The detectors are used to generate the necessary control signals for feeding and cutting the packaging sheet.

  • Patent number: 4196645
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting a web into a specified length in which an upper cutting edge and a lower cutting edge are provided respectively above and below the web run at a constant speed. The web is cut into the specified length by moving said upper cutting edge vertically while said upper and lower cutting edges are swung in the web movement direction. The swinging and vertical movements of said cutting edges are accomplished by rotation of an eccentric crank shaft driven by a DC motor. A rotation angle of the eccentric crank shaft and a movement length of said web are outputs provided in the form of pulses, respectively, in order to coincide a movement speed of the web with a swinging speed of the cutting edges in cutting said web.

  • Patent number: 4103575
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a continuously horizontally moving web into desired lengths comprises a first slider crank mechanism 21 for horizontally reciprocating a first slider 71 mounting relatively reciprocable cutting edges 81, 82 disposed below and above the web, a second slider crank mechanism 22 for vertically reciprocating the upper cutting edge 82 via a second slider 72 to sever the web, and a third slider crank mechanism 23 for horizontally reciprocating a third slider 73 mounting a torque balancing weight 83. All three mechanisms are driven by a common rotary shaft 13, and the angles between the crank arms of the mechanisms and the magnitude of the balancing weight are selected such that the shaft torque is substantially constant over the cutting region whereat the first slider moves at a substantially constant speed approximately equal to that of the travelling web.

  • Patent number: 4080711
Abstract: A preassembled film cartridge is magnetically gripped by an arm and pivotally delivered between chucks which are moved towards each other to grip the ends of the cartridge spool. A stand mounting chucks is then moved under the cartridge, and the chucks pinch the slotted shell thereof to release the end cap, whereafter the stand is withdrawn to expose the gripped spool. The end of a precut film strip is then inserted in the aligned spool slot, and the spool is rotated to wind the film thereon. The stand is then moved back under the spool, carrying with it the shell and end cap, whereafter a capper engages the end cap and completes the cartridge reassembly. The chucks release the shell, the stand is again withdrawn, an arm magnetically engages the loaded cartridge, and the chucks release the spool, whereafter the cartridge is pivotally removed from the apparatus by the arm.
