  • Publication number: 20140015534
Abstract: A battery system controller is provided which is used for a battery system including a generator, electrical loads, a lead storage battery, a high performance storage battery which has higher-power and higher-energy density, and an opening and closing switch which switches the generator and the lead storage battery, and the high performance storage battery to an electrically conducting state or an interrupted state, a terminal voltage of the high performance storage battery being controlled so as to be lower than a terminal voltage of the lead storage battery. The battery system controller includes a control unit which allows the opening and closing switch to switch from an electrically conducting state to an interrupted state on the condition that charging current flowing to the high performance storage battery is smaller than a determination value, the larger an internal resistance of the lead storage battery, the smaller the determination value is set.

  • Patent number: 8552688
Abstract: A battery condition estimation device estimates a pre-restart voltage drop amount ?Vjh+?Vbn of a battery mounted to a vehicle during period T1 to T2 from initiation of an engine stop until initiation of an engine restart based on detection values regarding the battery condition. The device estimates a voltage drop amount ?Vst during period T3 from initiation of the engine restart until completion of the engine restart based on the detection values regarding the battery condition. The device finally estimates a minimum voltage of the battery during period T1 to T3 from the initiation of the engine stop until the completion of the engine restart based on a voltage detection value Vj0 before the engine stop, the pre-restart voltage drop amount ?Vjh+?Vbn, and the voltage drop amount ?Vst.

  • Publication number: 20110260544
Abstract: The power supply unit includes a lead secondary battery (first battery) that is capable of being charged with power generated by an alternator (power generator); a lithium secondary battery (second battery) that is electrically connected in parallel to the lead secondary battery, capable of being charged with power generated by the alternator (power generator), and has higher output density or higher energy density than the lead secondary battery; and a switching means that is electrically connected between the alternator and the lead secondary battery, and the lithium secondary battery, and switches between conduction and blocking. The switching means is configured by a plurality of MOS-FETs (semiconductor switches) being connected in series such that respective parasitic diodes present in the semiconductor switches face opposite directions.

  • Publication number: 20110012381
Abstract: A lightweight bumper structure is achieved without a reduction in the amount of absorption of collision energy. A bumper structure (B1) is provided with a left and right pair of bumper stays (1, 1) fixed to side members (S), and also with a bumper reinforcing member (2) supported by both the bumper stays (1, 1). Each bumper stay (1) is formed in a shape the width of which gradually increases from the side member (S) toward the bumper reinforcing member (2). The bumper reinforcing member (2) is curved between both the bumper stays (1, 1). The rigidity of the bumper stays (1) and the bumper reinforcing member (2) is set so that the bumper stays (1) are crushed in the front-rear direction after the curved portion of the bumper reinforcing member (2) is rectilinearly extended.

  • Publication number: 20110001352
Abstract: A power source apparatus mounted to a vehicle is equipped with a lead-acid battery and a lithium battery. An open circuit voltage and an internal resistance of each of the batteries are determined to satisfy the following conditions (a1), (a2), and (a3): (a1) In the use range of SOC of the lead-acid battery and the use range of SOC of the lithium battery, there is an equal voltage point Vds at which the open circuit voltage V0 (Pb) of the lead-acid battery becomes equal to the open circuit voltage V0 (Li) of the lithium battery; (a2) The relationship of V0 (Li)>V0 (Pb) is satisfied in the upper limit side of the use range of SOC of the battery; and (a3) A terminal voltage Vc (Li) of the lithium battery is not more than a set voltage Vreg of a regulator when a maximum current flows in the lithium battery.

  • Publication number: 20050284040
Abstract: A pedestal unit usable for a raised floor is disclosed which comprises: a pair of beams; and a pair of pedestal frames for supporting the beams at both ends of the beams, respectively. Each pedestal frame comprises: a pair of leg members; a pair of base plates for supporting the leg members; respectively, and a connecting member with a predetermined length for rigidly connecting the legs member each other with a predetermined interval. The pedestal frame may be installed under a middle portion of the beams, which frame may be installed after installation of pedestal frames at ends of beams for easy adjustment. Additional pedestal frames for supporting additional beams may be fixed to the pedestal frames or the beam. A supporting surface of leg member may have a mount provided by casting and be cut for accurate dimensions.
