  • Patent number: 6773043
Abstract: When a trunk lid 10 is opened, even in the case that the trunk lid 10 is attached to a weather strip due to a frost of a vehicle body and the trunk lid 10 is not sufficiently opened, a lock canceling member 60 is restricted at an restriction canceling position during a period that a striker 45 is returned to a waiting position from a bring-in position. Furthermore, a latch 31 is not again engaged with the striker 45, and a drive mechanism 50 does not bring in the trunk lid 10 again.

  • Patent number: 6435574
Abstract: The lock device has a latch which is interposed between a base member and a reinforcing plate and is for rotating between an engagement position and an engagement released position. The engagement position is where the latch is to be engaged with a striker when closing an openable body. In addition, the lock device has a locking lever for constraining the latch at the engagement position. The latch by a latch shaft and the locking lever by a lever shaft each are mounted to a back side of the base member with the reinforcing plate. While the reinforcing plate is provided with a projection for fixing engagement which projects toward inside as seen from outside. The projection for fixing engagement fixes a detecting switch to be supported for detecting movement of the latch by fitting in a fitting portion provided to a switch body of the detecting switch.

  • Patent number: 6193288
Abstract: An electric lid closure generally comprises a lock unit mounted to a trunk lid and an electric closing unit mounted to a trunk room mouth. The lock unit includes a latch plate, and the electric closing unit includes a support base, a striker base pivotally connected through a pivot pin to the support base, a striker formed on the striker base and engageable with the latch plate, and an electric power mechanism for pivoting the striker base between uppermost and lowermost positions by an electric power. A leading edge of the striker is inclined relative to an imaginary plane over which the striker base turns about the pivot pin.

  • Patent number: 6176528
Abstract: An electric lid closure generally comprises a lock unit mounted to a trunk lid and an electric closing unit mounted to a mouth portion of a trunk room. The lock unit includes a latch plate and a locking plate by which the latch plate is locked at its latch position. The electric closing unit includes a movable striker engageable with the latch plate, and an electric power mechanism for moving the movable striker between an uppermost position and a lowermost position with an electric power. A first position sensor senses whether the movable striker assumes the uppermost position or the lowermost position. A second position sensor senses whether the trunk lid passes by a critical position or not. The critical position corresponds to a position of the movable striker which is above the uppermost position. A third position sensor senses whether the locking plate locks the latch plate or not.

  • Patent number: 5829799
Abstract: An automotive lid lock device comprises a lock proper which includes a latch plate and a locking plate. The locking plate is pivotal between a locking position to lock the latch plate and an unlocking position to release the latch plate. The lid lock device further comprises a power unlocking mechanism for pivoting the locking plate to the unlocking position with an aid of an electric power. The power unlocking mechanism includes an electric motor; a worm connected to an output shaft of the motor to rotate therewith; a worm wheel operatively engaged with the worm and a release lever extending between the locking plate and the worm wheel to pivot the locking plate from the locking position to the unlocking position when the worm wheel is turned in a given direction. The release lever, the locking plate and the worm wheel are so arranged that when the worm wheel is turned in the given direction, the worm wheel pushes the release lever toward the locking plate.
