  • Patent number: 5617520
Abstract: A three-dimensional pattern editing apparatus used in a CAD system edits three-dimensional patterns in accordance with a user's input operation and displays the result of edition. A pattern display unit displays a plurality of three-dimensional patterns, divided into a plurality of areas, on the display device and each having the same pattern, but having different view points. A displayed pattern moving unit moves the three-dimensional pattern which is displayed on any one divided area in accordance with a predetermined input operation; A displayed pattern linking unit moves the three-dimensional pattern displayed on another are to the converted direction in accordance with on the converted amount. The real time display of pattern movement is realized by applying only a logic operation on pixel image data stored in the frame buffer rather than using the vector description of the object.

  • Patent number: 5432894
Abstract: A method and apparatus for retrieving graphical data from a graphic data processing system that processes graphical forms, the graphic data processing system being responsive to a processing request to retrieve a graphical form from a designated region or a processing request to display a graphical form from a designated region. A three-dimensional figure is established which contains at least one graphical form and a spatial position of the three-dimensional figure is obtained. The spatial position is stored as region information. Graphic data for each graphical form contained in the three-dimensional figure is stored as graphical information. A graphic element is formed for the three-dimensional figure, the graphic element being a combination of the region information for the three-dimensional figure and the graphical information of each graphical form contained in the three-dimensional figure.

  • Patent number: 5268997
Abstract: A system for determining the arrangement of graphic segments or elements in a computer graphics and includes an input unit for entering the desired position and orientation of each individual graphic segment representative of a component or part of a product to be designed. The system also has an interference checking unit for checking interference of newly entered graphic segments relative to other segments already fixed in arrangement. The interference checking unit generates an alarm indicating the occurrence of interference through an interference alarming unit.
