  • Patent number: 5968435
Abstract: In a step of spinning a molten mesophase pitch in a process for manufacturing a pitch-type carbon fiber, the pitch is allowed to pass through an orifice and to be contracted once, is then expanded in an introduction port with a diameter greater than that of the orifice, and is then allowed to pass through an outlet pore formed at a collecting portion to spin the pitch. The pitch-type carbon fiber has a high elastic modulus in tension and high compressive strength.

  • Patent number: 5357069
Abstract: A sliding switch having a tandem-type contact structure in which a first and a second insulation portion are disposed in a first and a second negative fixed contact, respectively, of a first and a second group of fixed contacts. When a first and a second movable contact slide between a neutral position and a first operating position, an arc is produced between the first movable contact and the first negative fixed contact in which the first insulation portion is disposed. When the first and the second movable contact slide between the neutral position and a second operating position, an arc is produced between the second movable contact and the second negative fixed contact in which the second insulation portion is disposed. A decline in the insulation performance between the fixed contacts of different polarities is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4872618
Abstract: An apparatus suitable for use in winding a coil on a toroidal core of a magnetic head of a video tape recorder or magnetic disc player by passing a wire through a minuscule aperture, with the apparatus including an annular wire guide formed with a cutout, a plurality of pairs of feed rollers having axes disposed perpendicular to a plane in which the annular wire guide is disposed, the rollers of each pair engaging each other inside the annular wire guide, and at least one core holding unit for holding a core in such a manner as to be positioned in the cutout of the annular wire guide. By repeatedly performing the operations of feeding a wire by the feed rollers, guiding the movement of the wire by the annular wire guide and inserting the wire through a core window of the toroidal core after transporting the wire to the wire insertion position, it is possible to wind a coil positively with increased speed and reliability.

  • Patent number: 4584546
Abstract: A switch to be used for a power window of an automobile or the like is disclosed. It has a switch body. A knob is rotatably axially supported by the switch body. The knob has an accommodating chamber in its inside. A presser is accommodated within the chamber and biased downward by a spring. A pair of contact blades are positioned under the presser. Each of the contact blades is formed at its central portion with a V-shaped portion and inclined surfaces extending toward the right and left directions. The inclined surfaces are further extended to form contact portions. There is formed with a step between the inclined surfaces and the contact portions, so that a first step of operation and a second step of operation of the knob can be made without mistake. Stationary contacts are positioned corresponding to the contact portions. It also has a pair of contact holders. Each of the holders has a supporting piece folded upward from its one side.

  • Patent number: 4477150
Abstract: An electric remote-controlled rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror pivotally supported by a three point pivot connection of which the center pivot connection is stationary to permit angular movement of the mirror therearound. The remaining two pivot connections are spaced a predetermined angle from each other about the center pivot connection and are connected to rod members which are individually actuatable for longitudinal movement by at least one electric reversible motor to thereby positively angularly adjust the mirror around the center pivot connection. The drive of the motor is transmitted to the rod members through nut members. The rod members is made of an elastic material with providing threads whereas the nut members is made of a rigid material with providing teeth to be meshed with the threads of the rod members.

  • Patent number: 4264885
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay which is so arranged that a plate spring having a movable contact and a fixed contact plate having a fixed contact are secured to a stopper member fixed to a heel piece for the electromagnet, with a lift pin of the plate spring being adapted to contact the moving iron, so that the pressure at the contacts and the gap between the contacts as well as the lowest working voltage are readily adjusted as desired by merely transforming the stopper member. Furthermore, since the movable contact is free from positional deviation, mutual erosion or cutting between the contacts due to uneveness of the contact surfaces arising from sparks and the like has been eliminated for positive closing or opening of the contacts.
