  • Patent number: 4483124
Abstract: A sheet-like material processing apparatus is provided with a pre-processing section and a post-processing section. In the pre-processing section, the sheet-like material set in the supply section is taken out sheet by sheet and those taken-out ones are sorted, by an inspecting device, into at least two kinds of sheet-like material. A transfer/sorting device physically sorts those sheet-like material on the basis of the sorting by the inspection device. The sorted sheet-like material are separately collected each for a given number of the sheet-like material by a sorting and collecting device, and then are bundled by a sheet bundling device. A transfer device transfers the given number of the bundled sheet-like material. Of those sheet-like material transferred by said transfer device, the unreusable ones are invalidated by an invalidating device.

  • Patent number: 4458816
Abstract: The thin sheet sorting apparatus includes a supply device for supplying, one after one, the thin sheets to be sorted. A detecting device classifies the thin sheets into one of normal sheets, improper sheets and damaged sheets. A sorting device directs the improper sheets to a first conveying passageway, and the damaged sheets and the normal sheets to a second conveying passageway, respectively. A counting circuit counts the number of thin sheets guided to the first and second conveying passageways. The supply device supplies the thin sheets in discrete units each containing a predetermined number and the counting circuit counts the number of the sheets sorted for each predetermined number, thus confirming the predetermined number.

  • Patent number: 4414730
Abstract: A method for processing paper sheets of banded paper sheet bundles and a processing machine therefor, in which a plate-like to-be-detected medium made of magnetic material is inserted between each paper sheet bundle and a band put thereon, and the bundles are set in layers in the processing machine and delivered successively from top to bottom into a setting section where a delivery roller is disposed. The band of the bundle located in the setting section is cut, and transferred together with the to-be-detected medium to a storing section as the to-be-detected medium is attached to an electromagnet. The paper sheets are successively carried out by the delivery roller, and the to-be-detected medium attached to the next bundle is detected by a detecting means after all the paper sheets of the bundle concerned are carried out. Thus, the operation of the delivery roller is once disabled to allow the delivered paper sheets to be checked.

  • Patent number: 4406728
Abstract: This invention discloses apparatus for binding an article, such as a pack of bank notes, with a tape in a binding position. For this purpose, with rotation of a rotating member, the tape is supported by tape loop supporting pins and is wound to form a loop before a binding operation. The article is pushed into the loop and pressed before the tape is wound around the article. The tape supporting pins are retracted to disengage from the loop. The tape is drawn in a direction opposite to the supplying direction so as to be wound tightly around the article, and the trailing end of the tape is cut. The cut end of the tape is adhered to an adjacent portion of the tape. In this manner, tape binding is completed.

  • Patent number: 4404723
Abstract: A band-removing apparatus for taking off a band wound about a paper sheet bundle. One end portion of a paper sheet bundle brought to a band-removing section by transport means is clamped in a vertical direction by a pair of clamping members, thereby causing the paper sheet bundle to be bent downward. Part of a band is stretched over the concave portion of the bent paper sheet bundle in the form of a chord. A hooking member catches said chord portion of the band. When the hooking member holding said chord portion of the band is rotated crosswise of the transport passage, then the band is pulled off from the paper sheet bundle. The removed band is let to fall into a receptacle disposed on one lateral side of the transport passage.

  • Patent number: 4369088
Abstract: This invention discloses an apparatus for binding in cross shape an article such as a pack of bank notes with an elongate binding material such as a tape in a binding position. First, the article arranged in a first direction is pushed in the binding position and the article is then bound with the binding material. The trailing end of the binding material is cut and adhered to an adjacent surface of the binding material. When the first binding operation is completed, the bound article is removed from the binding position, being turned through 90 degrees in a manner to be arranged in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The article thus returns to the initial position. The article is pushed again in the binding position. Second binding is performed, accomplishing binding in cross shape.
