  • Publication number: 20170204901
Abstract: A ball bearing includes an inner ring with an inner raceway groove formed on an outer periphery of the inner ring, an outer ring with an outer raceway groove formed on an inner periphery of the outer ring, a plurality of balls interposed between the inner raceway groove and the outer raceway groove, and an annular cage that holds the balls at predetermined intervals along a circumferential direction. The cage has an annular portion positioned on an axially first side of the balls and a plurality of cage bars extending from the annular portion toward an axially second side. Each of the cage bars has a guide portion that positions the cage by contacting an area of the inner raceway groove that is different from an area contacted by the balls and pocket surfaces each come into point contact with a corresponding one of the balls.

  • Patent number: 9683605
Abstract: An inner ring has a rib face as a concave surface that is formed on the larger diameter side of an inner ring and that contacts large end faces of tapered rollers. A tapered roller bearing satisfies Ri>R?Rr, where Rr represents a curvature radius of the large end face, Ri represents a curvature radius of the rib face 8 in a longitudinal section of the inner ring 2, R represents a distance from a cone center to a reference point. The distance R is the distance from the cone center to the reference point, where the reference point is the intersection of the rib face and an imaginary line extending from the cone center and along an inner ring raceway surface in the longitudinal section of the inner ring 2. Surface roughness of the rib face is greater than that of the large end face.

  • Publication number: 20160265587
Abstract: A tapered roller bearing includes inner ring, outer ring, plurality of tapered rollers placed between inner and outer rings, and retainer having pockets receiving tapered rollers. Small diameter annular portion of retainer closes a small diameter side opening portion so that lubricating oil more than needed for lubrication can be limited from flowing into a bearing internal space. The small diameter side opening portion is constituted by a small collar portion provided on one axial end side of inner ring and one axial end portion of outer ring. A sliding contact face and recess portion are provided in radially outer side surface of each columnar portion. The sliding contact face is in sliding contact with outer ring raceway surface so that the retainer can be positioned radially by an outer ring raceway surface. Recess portion is recessed radially so that adjacent ones of the pockets can communicate with each other.
