Patent number: 5710826Abstract: There is provided an image encoding method in a facsimile apparatus or an image filing apparatus as an image communication apparatus. In this method, a color image signal which is expressed by a plurality of color component signals to be encoded is input, the input color image signal is converted into a bit stream signal, and the bit stream signal is encoded by prediction encoding. A parameter for the prediction encoding is changed in accordance with the color image signal to be encoded. The encoding operation is executed adaptively to the color image signal to be encoded. By virtue of bit stream converting the binary color signal, efficient encoding using the color correlation can be executed and an increase in data amount is prevented. By encoding the bit stream signal using a dynamic arithmetic code, a binary color image can be efficiently encoded.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1994Date of Patent: January 20, 1998Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hidefumi Osawa, Yasuhiko Yasuda, Shigeo Kato

Patent number: 5689494Abstract: A fine-fabrication method of solid surfaces relates to a new surface fabrication method allows a solid-device surface to be fabricated at an atomic scale so as to produce an ultra-fine device or a device for recording information at an ultra-high density. A probe is installed with a tip thereof facing to the surface of a specimen to undergo fabrication. A voltage for forming an electric field is applied between the probe and the specimen. The electric field is large enough to field-evaporate atoms constituting the specimen or the probe; the electric field field-evaporates atoms constituting the specimen, removing them from the surface of the specimen; and as another alternative, the electric field field-evaporates atoms constituting the probe, depositing them on the surface of the specimen.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1995Date of Patent: November 18, 1997Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masakazu Ichikawa, Shigeyuki Hosoki, Fumihiko Uchida, Shigeo Kato, Yoshihisa Fujisaki, Sumiko Fujisaki, Atsushi Kikugawa, Ryo Imura, Hajime Aoi, Kiyokazu Nakagawa, Eiichi Murakami

Patent number: 4934781Abstract: The rotating mirror light deflecting system employs a non-circular dynamic gas bearing providing dynamic pressure to radially support the shaft. The bearing is provided internally with a multiplicity of grooves or embankments whereby dynamic gas pressure is increased to enhance rigidity. The bearing radially moves as a whole with damping according to a movement of the shaft, thus permitting nondestructive movement of the shaft and absorption of the resonant energy of the shaft. The shaft and the bearing will not come in contact with each other, and oscillation energy of the shaft is absorbed or dissipated by an external viscous or hysteresis resistance of the bearing therefore resonance oscillation is attenuated on the instant it occurs.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1989Date of Patent: June 19, 1990Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Koki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shigeo Kato, Susumu Saito, Yasuhide Matsumura, Gyozo Toda

Patent number: 4641620Abstract: An engine intake system including a primary and secondary intake passages which are separated from each other and are respectively provided with a primary and a secondary fuel injection valve. The secondary intake passage is closed and the secondary fuel injection valve is inoperable for light load engine operation. When the secondary fuel injection valve is restarted to operate for heavy load engine operation, the quantity of fuel supply is momentarily increased to avoid any stepwise change in the engine output torque. The amount of the increase in the fuel supply is increased in response to a decrease in the engine speed. When operation of the secondary fuel injection valve is stopped, the fuel supply is decreased.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1985Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Assignee: Mazda Motor CorporationInventors: Takeshi Yoshimura, Mutsuro Sameshima, Toru Nakanishi, Shigeo Kato
