    Abstract: A clear image unaffected by the brightness of the projection environment. The projection screen according to the present invention is a projection screen for projecting thereupon narrow-band tricolor wavelength band light to display an image, and comprises an optical thin film (3) which has high reflection properties regarding the narrow-band tricolor wavelength band light, and has high transmission properties regarding at least visible wavelength band light other than the wavelength band light, on a screen base (2). With the projection screen according to the present invention configured as above, the optical thin film (3) serves as a so-called band filter. That is to say, the optical thin film (3) particularly reflects narrow-band tricolor wavelength band light and transmits light of other wavelengths, thereby functioning as a narrow-band tricolor wavelength bandwidth filter acting to separate these.

    Abstract: The state of a polysilicon film formed by excimer laser annealing an amorphous silicon film is to be evaluated. When the amorphous silicon film is annealed to form a polysilicon film, linearity or periodicity presents itself in the spatial structure of the film surface of the polysilicon film formed depending on the energy applied to the amorphous silicon during annealing. This linearity or periodicity is processed as an image and represented numerically from the image by exploiting the linearity or periodicity. The state of the polysilicon film is checked based on the numerical results.

    Abstract: A metal-dendrimer complex in which the metal active site is deep within the three-dimensional dendrimer construct, has superoxide dismutase-like activity. The dendrimer construct has a generally globular shape, and the branched chains nearer the surface are sufficiently densely packed to restrict the movement of larger biomolecules into the dendritic construct toward the metal active sites. Smaller molecules such as the superoxide anion (O2·−) move freely from the milieu into the dendritic complex and to the metal active sites, where the dismutation of superoxide to hydrogen peroxide is effected; and smaller molecules such as hydrogen peroxide move freely out from the dendritic complex to the milieu.

An aperture varying unit varies the size of an aperture of the objective lens depending upon the sorts of the optical recording media. The size of the aperture of the objective lens for condensing the light from the light source is varied depending upon the difference in substrate thickness of the different sorts of the optical recording media, thus assuring high-quality recording/reproduction for two or more different sorts of optical recording media.
