    Abstract: A paper conveying apparatus, having a simple structure, in which variation in a load imposed on paper is reduced to suppress printing irregularities, and also a printer are provided. A pair of rollers of a second conveying apparatus, arranged at a predetermined interval away from a first conveying apparatus, are composed of a rotationally-driven driving roller and a driven roller which is trailingly rotated, with paper being gripped between the driving roller and the driven roller. The pairs of rollers of the second conveying apparatus are arranged in different positions along the paper conveying direction. The paper gripping pressure of the pair of driving rollers arranged on the upstream side along the paper conveying direction is set to be lower than that of the other pairs of driving rollers.

Further, the structure includes an upper cover (7) connected to the carriage (2) openably and closably in a vertical direction.     Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a sheet feeding apparatus of a simple structure which is capable of stacking discharged sheets in a discharged-sheet stacker in an aligned manner without performing any complicated operation even when the sheet size is changed. The common sheet guide is removably attached to the cassette and comes in contact with the sheets stacked in the cassette and the sheets stacked in the stacker. When the sheets in the cassette are replaced with sheets of a different size, as the common sheet guide is moved to come in contact with the edges of the sheets, the common sheet guide is located at the position capable of coming in contact with the edges of the sheets stacked in the stacker. Therefore, it is possible to restrict the movement of the sheets stacked in the stacker and to align the sheets with each other.

The transporting speed of the transporting motor is increased based on the desired suppression in the resolution of the image data. Therefore, a facsimile machine using the above-mentioned method can read the image of an original document with a desired resolution.

    Abstract: A partial painting method suitable for partially painting a workpiece or article of a complex surface shape. A surface of the workpiece is coated with strippable paint. The coated strippable paint is dried into a strippable film on the workpiece surface. A laser beam is applied to the strippable film along a prescribed cutting line so as to cut the strippable film. A portion of the strippable film corresponding to a first area of the workpiece surface to be painted is peeled off, while the remaining portion of the strippable film is left adhering on a second area of the workpiece surface to remain unpainted, and thereby masking of the workpiece is completed. The first area is then painted with a paint to form a final paint coating.
