Abstract: The binder composition for the production of molds of the present invention comprises a binder obtained by polycondensation of polycondensable components comprising as major components furfuryl alcohol, urea, and an aldehyde. In the binder contained in the binder composition for the production of molds, the difference ?A-B! between the weight % of charged furfuryl alcohol (A) based on the weight of the binder and the weight % of unreacted furfuryl alcohol (B) based on the weight of the binder is 5.0 to 60.0. When the binder composition for the production of molds of the present invention is used, the curing of the binder is further accelerated without deteriorating the working atmosphere.
