  • Patent number: 8767362
Abstract: An islanded power system with a distributed power supply includes a system abnormality detection unit, which outputs an abnormality detection signal when an abnormality in a commercial system is detected; a breaker, which interrupts a supply of power from the commercial system when the abnormality detection signal is input from the system abnormality detection unit; a status detection unit, which outputs a breaker status signal when the breaker's open state is detected; and an electrical storage device, which compensates a fluctuation in load until a rotating machine generator switches to an islanded operation after the supply of power from the commercial system is interrupted by the breaker by starting the supply of power when the breaker status signal is input.

  • Patent number: 8401712
Abstract: A control method of the present invention is a control method for distributed power sources which systematically controls a plurality of distributed power sources having different responsive capabilities for a load disturbance. The distributed power sources include an electricity storage device. The control method of the present invention includes: obtaining a component to be compensated for using a power source having a responsive capability equal to or lower than that of the electricity storage device based on a difference value between a remaining capacity of the electricity storage device and a target remaining capacity; and compensating for the component to be compensated for using the power source having a responsive capability equal to or lower than that of the electricity storage device.

  • Patent number: 5588666
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a vehicle air bag comprises, basically, a boss, a base plate, attachment clips and fasteners. The boss is affixed to a component of the vehicle, the base plate has a first mounting portion on which the air bag is mounted and a second mounting portion to which the boss is attached. The fasteners connect the attachment clips to the second mounting portion of the base plate and the boss. Each of the clips have generally straight leg sections, and a central section connecting the leg sections together. The leg sections have an end portion, and each of the end portions has an aperture therethrough for receiving one of the fasteners, and for attaching together the second mounting portion and the boss.

  • Patent number: 5498022
Abstract: The basic material from which the steering wheel and the substrate from which a dash board of a motor vehicle are fabricated are colored a predetermined visible color. The dash board and steering wheel each have air bag assemblies mounted therein. The air bag container and air bag gate are also fabricated from a material that has been colored the same visible color as the color of the steering wheel and/or dash board in which the air bag assembly will be mounted. These components are color coordinated during assembly in a motor vehicle. The steering wheel, the dash board and the air bag container are finished or covered with a surface finish material that has the same visible color as the surface being finished so that when the finish material chips off the surface covered by the finish material, such as caused by deployment of the air bag, unsightliness caused by differences in visible color is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4671494
Abstract: An overload prevention apparatus includes a geared member with a number of teeth formed thereon, an engagement member including an engagement portion of which dimensions are determined so as to allow the latter to enter the valley on the geared member, a supporting member for turnably supporting the engagement member so as to allow the latter to turn toward and away from the geared member and a resilient member disposed between the engagement member and the supporting member to thrust the engagement portion on the engagement member toward the geared member. Either the geared member or the supporting member is arranged to move relative to the other. The direction of movement of the movable member is determined by the direction of extension of the teeth on the geared member. When hoisting ropes pull the movable member with excessively high force, the geared member is caused to move against thrusting force of the engagement member generated by the resilient member whereby the hoisting ropes are unreeled further.
