  • Patent number: 7978995
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a process correction mode wherein when a temperature of a fixing device in an image formation system in a power-on state is equal to or less than a predetermined value, the image forming apparatus increases the fixing temperature to the predetermined value. The apparatus sets the process correction mode based on power-on information output from a first detector which detects presence of the power-on state for the fixing device and fixing temperature information output from a second detector which detects a fixing temperature in the fixing device, and sets a priority level for performing a correction processing of the color misregistration to be lower than a correction processing comprising an image density adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5210584
Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a movable type developing unit carrying a plurality of developing devices for performing a developing function using a plurality of color toners. The developing unit is vertically moved along a photosensitive drum. It is detected by a sensor whether or not a selected developing device is at a first position of the level of the developing position. In carrying out a developing operation, the developing device at the first position is moved to a second position adjacent to a photosensitive drum. The following problems are detected based on the ON and OFF state of the sensor: if the developing device does not move to the second position a predetermined period of time after an instruction for moving it from the first position to the second position is issued or if the developing device does not move to the first position a predetermined period of time after an instruction for returning it from the second position to the first position is issued.

  • Patent number: 5061949
Abstract: There is disclosed an image forming apparatus comprising a semiconductor laser diode for emitting a laser light onto a photoconductor so as to form an electrostatic latent image thereon. The electrostatic latent image is developed using toner so as to form a visible toner image on the photoconductor, and there is set a predetermined bias voltage to be supplied to the laser diode. The set bias voltage is applied to the laser diode, and also a driving voltage is applied thereto responsive to image data. When no image data are inputted, the predetermined bias voltage is applied to the laser diode, and a density of a toner image formed on the photoconductor is detected. A controller sets a bias voltage to be applied to the laser diode responsive to the detected density of the toner image.
