Abstract: An image signal recording and reproducing system of this invention is arranged to record an image signal on a recording medium and to reproduce a recorded image signal from the recording medium. The system is provided with a first recording mode for recording an image signal for one picture having a first resolution on n recording tracks (n: positive integer) of the recording medium and a second recording mode for recording an image signal for one picture having a second resolution higher than the first resolution on m recording tracks (m: integer greater than n) of the recording medium. If an image signal recorded on the basis of the second recording mode is to be reproduced from the recording medium on which image signals are recorded in either one of the first and second recording modes, an arbitrary portion of an image corresponding to the image signal reproduced from the recording medium is extracted and outputted.

With the exposure control means including at least a shutter, the shutter is arranged to be moved to a less degree in the continuous shooting mode than in the non-continuous shooting mode. After completion of continuous shooting, the shutter moving degree is changed to a degree to which the shutter is to be moved in the non-continuous shooting mode.

Abstract: An electronic imaging apparatus in which an exposure is controlled by using that output of an image pickup element which is obtained with exposure adjusting means in a corresponding position to the output of a photosensitive element solely used for light measurement, being characterized by including a control circuit for changing the reading-out speed over between a prescribed portion of the image sensing area to be used for the exposure control and the other portion than that prescribed portion, wherein the size and location of the aforesaid prescribed portion is made changeable by an adjusting member accessible from the outside of the apparatus.

Abstract: An electric connector for a camera, the camera having a body and an accessory coupled with each other by their mounts of the mating-to-shift type, and electrically connected to each other by contacting of contact groups on the two mounts with each other when the coupling is complete. Each of the electric contact groups includes at least a contact for ground, a contact for signal and a contact for electrical power. The lengths of all the electric contacts on the accessory device in the coupling-up direction are so determined that, as the shifting of the accessory device in mating with the camera body goes on, the contacts for ground come first to contact with each other, then the contacts for signal to contact with each other and then the contacts for electrical power to contact with each other.
