  • Patent number: 5939026
Abstract: An electron beam gas processing apparatus includes a single vacuum vessel maintained at vacuum by means of a vacuum pump and first and second lenses are disposed in the vacuum vessel. An electron beam emitted from an electron source is focused by each of the lenses, and the electron beam is irradiated onto a processing gas in a duct. When the current value of the electron beam is increased as the concentration of NOx in the processing gas increases, the focal distance is decreased by increasing the intensity of magnetic fields or the intensity of electric fields of the lenses in accordance with the current value of a filament, the current value of an arc power supply and the gas pressure in a gas reservoir and the first lens is moved toward a draw-out electrode and the second lens is moved toward the duct, so that a parallel electron beam of constant diameter is formed and the electron beam can be prevented from being increased in focusing diameter.

  • Patent number: 5157235
Abstract: A laser marking system of the present invention is provided with an irradiation position changing device on a laser beam path for changing the irradiation positions of the laser beam corresponding to each marking area when a marking area including a plurality of irradiation marking areas is formed by irradiating the workpiece with the pulse laser beam which has passed a pattern of a mask. The plurality of irradiation marking areas are successively irradiated with the pulse laser beam from an irradiation position to form a marking area. Since the marking area larger than each irradiation marking area can be obtained, the whole laser marking system can be made smaller in size without increasing the output power of the pulse laser generator.

  • Patent number: 4740980
Abstract: In a gas laser device according to this invention, a gas inlet having an electrode protrudes within each of expanded portions protruding on the side, where the gas inlet is disposed, of the principal portion of the discharge tube. Gas medium ejected from the gas inlet in the principal portion of a discharge tube collides with the inner surface of the principal portion of a discharge tube, while forming a flame extending along the ejected gas medium from the electrode and is divided into two partial flows. One of them flows along the wall of the expanded portion; collides with the gas inlet; and is divided further into two partial flows. Therefore it does not collide with the gas medium within the gas inlet. Consequently the gas medium and the flame fluctuate hardly and are stabilized. In this way it is possible to stabilize the laser output.

  • Patent number: 4682003
Abstract: In a laser beam glass cutting method, a glass article to be cut (for example a moulded tumbler having a moil) is maintained at a high temperature below the softening point of the glass and then the glass is repeatedly irradiated with a laser beam along the required cut-off line by rotating the glass. During this step, a tensile force is applied by gravity or by a mechanical device to the part to be cut off. Following removal of the part, the edge of the glass is irradiated again with the laser beam to effect fire-polishing thereof, so as to improve the shape of that edge. During the irradiation by the laser beam, an auxiliary inert gas is blown into the glass article to prevent glass deposition.

  • Patent number: 4502320
Abstract: Method and apparatus for diagnosing abnormality of an oil-filled electric apparatus is disclosed. Presence or absence of abnormality is determined by comparing contents of plural predetermined components contained in gas extracted from the oil of the electric apparatus with respective predetermined reference values. The type of abnormality is determined on the basis of at least one set of two specific components selected from the plural components.

  • Patent number: 4345471
Abstract: A light source for forming an optical path extending across a closed vessel and a light receiving unit for receiving light from the light source are disposed outside the closed vessel. A portion to have its temperature measured as lies in the closed vessel is provided with a temperature detecting device which consists of a temperature sensor and a light interceptive plate. The temperature sensor is formed to be downwardly convex by sticking two members of different coefficients of thermal expansion one over the other (the member of the larger coefficient of thermal expansion being arranged over the member of the smaller coefficient of thermal expansion). The light interceptive plate is arranged over the member of the larger coefficient of thermal expansion. When the portion to have its temperature measured has reached a predetermined temperature, the temperature sensor inverts the downwardly convex state into an upwardly convex state.
