  • Patent number: 6339514
Abstract: The invention presents a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus capable of reducing the size and preventing external force from propagating directly to the internal mechanism. To achieve the object, a main arm 26 and a sub-arm 29 are constituted so as not to intersect with a photo detector 31 always during rotating operation within a plane including the photo detector 31, and the dimension can be hence reduced in the width direction of the apparatus, and moreover as the wall thickness of MIC-SW 46 is reduced, the upper end of the MIC-SW 46 is held by a back plate 48, so that the dimension of the apparatus can be reduced also in the depth direction, and further a cassette holder 13 is locked by a damper 42 to prevent effects from outside when a sub-chassis 19 moves from unloading position to loading position.

  • Patent number: 6205006
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus which allows a reduction in the necessary space by attaching a rotary head cylinder unit (5) onto a chassis 6 through leaf springs (23) using set screws (22). The rotary head cylinder unit (5) can be fixed onto the chassis (6) with a certain load without causing distortion of the rotary head cylinder unit. Integration of two or more leaf springs (131) improves efficiency in assembling the apparatus and reduces the number of components.

  • Patent number: 6092755
Abstract: A reel stand includes (a) a reel base for engaging a reel and driving the reel, (b) a bearing disposed in the reel base and being extended through by a rotary shaft, and (c) a spring being urged to the rotary shaft. This construction allows the reel stand to integrate a brake torque mechanism into its downsized body, and to provide a tape with uniform tape tension when the tape is taken up or supplied. The spring is pressed to the shaft to produce brake torque, which lowers the peripheral velocity of the shaft. As a result, less frictional heat is produced, which reduces changes in friction factors due to the heat.

  • Patent number: 6056477
Abstract: A waste disposal site according to the present invention is provided with water-impermeable properties by water-impermeable materials covering a bottom surface and a sloped side surface of the waste disposal site. The waste disposal site is provided with a water-impermeable material damage-detecting system comprising electrodes for feeding electricity disposed above and below the water-impermeable materials for forming an electric field, and electrodes for measurement disposed along the water-impermeable materials. The system allows for detection of damages to the water-impermeable materials based on a potential variation at a damaged portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 5451967
Abstract: A roof antenna capable of receiving three kinds of bands, i.e., a FM radio band, an AM radio band, and a wireless-telephone band, includes an antenna element 10 having a structure that a conductor 15 winds around the insulator 16 in the form of a coil. A molded portion 14 is formed at the bottom of the antenna element, in which a trap coil is inserted. The electric length from the antenna top 11 to the internal metal fitting 17 at the lower end of the antenna element 10 is about a quarter of a FM radio wave. The electric length from the internal metal fitting 17 to the lower end of the trap coil 12 is about a quarter of a wireless telephone wave. A cover 19 supporting a basal part of the antenna element installs the first substrate 20 and the second substrate 21. The first substrate 20 and the second substrate 21 have a matching circuit, branching filters, and amplifiers.

  • Patent number: 4805299
Abstract: A working apparatus for applying a working to a work placed on a pallet conveyed by a conveyer by staking a part of the work or fitting an element to work. The apparatus includes a working head vertically moved between a raised working position where the working head applies the working upon the work from beneath and a lowered rest position. A lifting device disposed beside the working head in the lowered rest position moves the working head up and down. An operating device is also disposed beside the working head in the lowered rest position. The operating device is displaced sideways to be brought into cooperation with the working head in the working position and operates the working head to apply the working to the work.

  • Patent number: 4345537
Abstract: An apparatus for restraining and berthing a floating body or vessel on a water surface at a quay wall, comprises a driving subsystem, a movable member driven by the driving subsystem and forwardly and backwardly guided by guide members, and an elastic end piece such as a marine fender secured to the movable member and projecting away from the quay wall. The apparatus according to the invention can exactly move the end piece to a desired position for restraining the floating body and can utilize precompressive forces arising in the end piece, thereby accommodating tolerances or unintensional errors of the quay wall in construction and absorbing rocking energy of the floating body to hold it firmly in place in a harbor. The apparatus according to the invention retracts its elastic piece in a rest or inoperative position and extends it in an operative position to be in contact with a floating body such as a ship or boat to serve as a marine fender.
