  • Publication number: 20060105257
Abstract: A novel indolenine compound which has a high molar extinction coefficient (weight extinction coefficient) and shows considerably reduced absorption in the visible light region; an infrared absorber; and a toner containing the absorber, specifically a toner for noncontact thermal fixing, especially such as the flash fixing type, which has satisfactory fixability, is reduced in influence on the color tones of color toners, and has a high molar extinction coefficient. The indolenine compound is represented by the following general formula (1). Also provided are: a near infrared absorber comprising the indolenine compound; and a toner for copiers of the noncontact thermal fixing type, which contains the indolenine compound. In the formula (1), R represents a group represented by the following general formula (2). —((CH2)bO)a(CH2)cOR1 ??(2) (wherein a is 1 or 0, b and c each independently is 1 or 2, and R1 represents C4 or lower alkyl); and X? represents an ion for charge neutralization.

  • Publication number: 20060091365
Abstract: A near-infrared absorbing filter which does not contain antimony, arsenic or the like and is excellent in heat resistance is disclosed. The near-infrared absorbing filter is characterized by containing a compound composed of a salt of cations obtained by oxidizing a substance represented by the formula (1) below and anions (X), which are alkylsulfonate ions having 1-8 carbon atoms that are necessary for neutralizing the cations and not substituted or may be substituted with a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a cyano group, or a hydroxy group. (1) (in the formula (1), rings A and B may have a substituent, and R1-R8 independently represent a substituted or non-substituted (C1 to C8) alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, alkenyl group or aryl group.

  • Patent number: 5518825
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent device comprises an anode, a positive-hole transport layer, an emitting layer, (an electron transport layer) and a cathode which are layered in sequence, wherein the emitting layer (and/or the electron transport layer) comprises at least one of dioxazine compounds or diazine compounds. The emitting capability of the organic electroluminescent device is improved in luminance and efficiency upon application of a low voltage.

  • Patent number: 5389486
Abstract: An electrophotographic toner containing a specific compound as the charge control agent is described. The electrophotographic toner according to the present invention have a sharper distribution of the amount of electrification and better moisture resistance and time stability than those of a toner wherein a conventional charge control agent is used. Therefore it can provide an image having a very high gradation and has a very high capability of repeatedly forming an image. Since the charge control agent, as such, is essentially colorless, a colorant can freely be selected according to a hue required of a color toner and the toner is not detrimental to the hue inherent in a dye and a pigment.
