  • Patent number: 8283134
Abstract: A cassette for fixing, embedding and slicing biological tissues includes a base sheet and a lid sheet formed of an elongated plastic sheet which is sliceable and has not less than predetermined strength. The base sheet has grooves as biological tissue receiving portions. The base plate and the lid sheet are formed by folding the plastic sheet along a fold line so that the lid sheet can be selectively opened and closed. Biological tissues are pressed against the bottoms of the grooves with pressing/retaining sponge members secured to the lid sheet at its portions corresponding to the respective grooves. In this state, the biological tissues are fixed by a fixing agent, and the cassette is dehydrated, infiltrated with paraffin as an embedding agent to embed the cassette, thereby forming a block including an embedding frame. The block is then sliced with a microtome to provide good biological tissue specimens.

  • Publication number: 20090093226
Abstract: The present invention provides a broadcast signal receiving apparatus and method both capable of reducing the influence of noise generated inside the receiving apparatus. A CPU transmits control information about an optimum TS output rate corresponding to a received channel signal to an OFDM-LSI, based on each output rate setting table stored in a memory in advance. The OFDM-LSI sets an optimum output rate and transmits a signal in accordance with the set optimum output rate.

  • Publication number: 20090091381
Abstract: The present invention aims to suppress degradation of a reception characteristic even in such an environment that the signal strength of an inputted analog signal varies due to a variation in a received electric field. A controller acquires characteristic information showing each gain characteristic indicative of a relationship between the signal strength of the analog signal and the gain corresponding to the analog signal at an amplifier from a CPU. An AGC controller derives gains each corresponding to the signal strength detected at an ADC according to the gain characteristics indicated by the acquired characteristic information, whenever necessary, and outputs the same to the amplifier through a terminal.

  • Publication number: 20080098147
Abstract: A bus repeater lying within a demodulation IC performs a bus repeat operation after a repeat operation has been made effective, and terminates the repeat operation on an autonomous basis when a stop condition for each serial data is detected. During the repeater operation, control on the direction of data transfer of a master-side IIC bus and control on the direction of data transfer of a tuner-side IIC bus corresponding to a repeat destination are performed by a master-side IIC bus transaction while they are being synchronized with each other. Therefore, the CPU-side IIC bus and the tuner-side IIC bus seem to be through-connected as the flow of the serial data. Further, data transfer can be done only when the swapping of the data with the tuner side is needed.

  • Patent number: 7304980
Abstract: Transparent data transmission service is kept optimal in the quality provided. A transmission quality monitor section, provided in a base-band signal processing circuit of each apparatus, monitors an error in reception data and an response, to the data transmitted, of from an opposite apparatus, thereby measuring an error rate. When the error rate exceeds a set level, the transmission scheme as to transparent data is switched over to a scheme higher in probability of normal reception (e.g. packets added with error correction codes). Meanwhile, when the error rate lowers to a set level or lower, the transmission scheme as to transparent data is switched over to a scheme higher in transmission efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20060098715
Abstract: An adaptive frequency hopping wireless communication method in which, upon completion of the transmission of a packet from a transmitting device to a receiving device in a time slot, the transmitting or receiving device (or both) uses the remaining time in the slot, if the amount of remaining time is adequate, to detect interference. Adequate remaining time is recognized from the length of the time slot, minus the length of the packet, minus the time needed to prepare for transmission or reception in the next time slot. This scheme permits frequency channels in which interfering signals are present and frequency channels in which interfering signals are absent to be detected quickly so that use of these frequency channels can be promptly discontinued or resumed.

  • Publication number: 20050220135
Abstract: A wireless communication device control method employing Adaptive Frequency Hopping that switches among a plurality of channels except for a channel subject to interference by interfering waves includes creating, setting, processing reception, restricting use and resetting use restriction. In the creating step, a hopping pattern is created by using available channels. In the setting step, channels used for the communication are set based on the hopping pattern. In the processing reception step, received signals on the channels are processed. In the restricting use step, use of the interfered carrier channel is restricted when interfering waves are detected in the channel after detection whether interfering waves exist. In the resetting use restriction step, the restriction on use of the restricted channel is reset when interfering waves are not detected in the channel by carrier-sensing in the channel during idle time where the wireless communication device does not perform communication.

  • Patent number: 6906590
Abstract: A FET amplifier which minimizes the worsening of the distortion-susceptibility due to variations in the ambient temperature of operation is to be provided. An LDMOS FET 1, whose source terminal is grounded and to which are applied a gate voltage Vgs from a gate bias terminal 3 via a temperature-compensating circuit 2 and a choke coil and a drain voltage Vds from a drain bias terminal 4 via a choke coil operates as a source-grounded type amplifier. In the temperature compensating circuit 2, the resistances of fixed resistance elements 21 and 22 connected in parallel are set to be the same or have the same number of digits, and those of thermosensitive resistance elements (thermistors) 23 and 24 are set to be a combination of a value greater by one digit and a value smaller by one digit than that of the fixed resistance element 21 or the fixed resistance element 22 at the standard level (+25° C.) in the ambient temperature range of operation.
