  • Patent number: 6292444
Abstract: There is provided an optical storage device that can position a lens carriage and objective lens even when position sensors for the lens carriage and objective lens are excluded in an effort to make an optical disk unit thinner. When a seek of the carriage relative to an optical disk is started, the carriage is accelerated smoothly, decelerated smoothly, and thus positioned on a target track. The vibration of a lens actuator on the carriage occurring during seek can be minimized, and the lens actuator is locked substantially in the center of the carriage. During a seek operation of the carriage, a false lens signal equivalent to a lens signal used to lock the lens actuator in the center of the carriage is produced using the envelope of a tracking error signal obtained from reflected light of the light beam emanating from the optical disk. With the false lens signal, the lens actuator is locked in the center of the carriage.

  • Patent number: 5485560
Abstract: A drawing information processing method and system adapted to offer a plurality of types of standard display results for each object to-be-displayed through instructions. Data for specifying the form of the object to-be-displayed, and display method data for stipulating a display method showing how the object to-be-displayed is displayed, are stored so as to correspond to each other. The display method data includes data for designating, for example, a display direction, display range, and display position or the like. A plurality of sets of display method data are stored. For displaying, one data which represents a desired status may be selected from a plurality of displaying method data to display the object to-be-displayed in the selected form based on the selected data.

  • Patent number: 5479499
Abstract: A sensor circuit for telephone line includes a line current detecting circuit (52, 54) which generates a detection signal in response to a line current flowing in a telephone line (20, 22). The detection signal is applied to a first amplifier (56), and the detection signal as amplified is not only further amplified by a second amplifier (57) but also applied to a tone deriving circuit (60) and a CI detecting circuit (61) via a coupling capacitor (59). The detection signal as amplified twice is applied to a comparing circuit (58) which compares the detection signal from the second amplifier with a first reference voltage (V1) and a second reference voltage (V2), so that a line current supervisory signal is outputted from the comparing circuit. The tone deriving circuit includes a band-pass filter and derives a tone signal from the detection signal from the first amplifier. The CI detecting circuit detects a CI (calling tone) on the basis of the detection signal from the first amplifier.

  • Patent number: 5392273
Abstract: A control method and controller for an optical storage drive including: an optical head having a laser light source for applying light to an optical disk and a detector for receiving reflected light from the optical disk; and a seek mechanism for positioning the optical head on the optical disk. The control method includes: measuring a drive current value with which the laser light source provides a predetermined light power value by an emission adjustment; writing the measured drive current value into a non-volatile memory as an initial value; adjusting the emission of the laser light source so that it provides the predetermined light power value; and comparing the drive current value with which the emission adjustment has been made with the initial value stored in the non-volatile memory. Also disclosed is a control method which measures and stores a write power value providing optimum write performance in a non volatile memory for controlling the power of the laser light source with the measured value.

  • Patent number: 5339247
Abstract: In a computer aided design (CAD) system, by distributing managements of a number of concerned parts data to a plurality of work stations (WS), a large scale assembly constructed by a number of parts can be easily designed. There is provided a distributed data CAD system in which a user can easily progress the design of an assembly under distributed circumstances without being aware of the locations of the distributed information. A certain client WS transmits parts numbers to a server WS. The server WS searches a parts construction file by using the parts numbers as keys, thereby obtaining parts construction information and transmitting to the client WS. The client WS checks the parts construction information and when parts shape information exists in a parts shape file connected to its own WS, the client WS searches the file by using the shape names and physical path names as keys, thereby obtaining parts shape information.
