    Abstract: Provided is an epidemic prevention method including providing a mixed slurry comprising an emulsion of a non-alkaline-thickening resin which is free from a coagulation-attributable viscosity increase even when mixed with an alkaline substance and an alkaline substance of which a diluted solution has pH 10.0 or more, and coating, drying, and solidifying the mixed slurry to internally disperse and embed the alkaline substance in the form of solid particles and simultaneously to form a solidified matter provided with microcracks communicated with the solid particles of the internal alkaline substance, so that a moisture which adheres to a surface of the solidified matter permeates through the microcracks and dissolves the solid particles of the internal alkaline substance to cause alkalinity of pH 10.0 or more to be exhibited on the surface of the solidified matter, thereby inactivating microbes and viruses on the surface of the solidified matter.

    Abstract: The invention provides a GaN green LED drive device comprising: a bias current output unit for outputting a pulse-like bias current having a low level higher by a predetermined value than a zero level; and a peaking unit for peaking the bias current outputted from the bias current output unit to make rise of the bias current higher than a high level and make fall of the bias current lower than the low level to thereby obtain a peaked bias current supplied to a GaN green LED. The bias current is peaked while the low level of the bias current is set at a higher value (10 mA) than that in the related art. Hence, the fall time tf becomes 6.6 nsec. The fall time tf can be shortened greatly compared with that in the related art.

    Abstract: In a light emitting diode, a scattering material-containing light guiding/scattering layer is provided which directly receives light emitted from a light emitting element. The scattering material contained in the light guiding/scattering layer irregularly reflects and scatters the incident light. The scattered light is led to a fluorescence emitting layer formed of a transparent binder containing a phosphor material. The probability of incidence of light having high optical density, which has been emitted from the light emitting element, directly to the phosphor material contained in the fluorescence emitting layer is lowered, and light can be radiated from the whole fluorescence emitting layer. Therefore, uniform light having a desired color can be radiated with high efficiency from the light emitting diode.

    Abstract: An optical fiber, a mixture solution of the photosetting resins polymerizing in two different polymerization types, and a transparent container are prepared. The photosetting resins are not copolymerized, and have different activation wavelengths of the photopolymerization initiators for hardening. Employing a combination in which the activation wavelength of a photopolymerization initiator for a photosetting resin with higher refractive index after hardening is longer than the activation wavelength of a photopolymerization initiator for a photosetting resin with lower refractive index after hardening, a core portion can be only formed by hardening the photosetting resin with higher refractive index due to a difference between two wavelengths. Thereafter, a clad portion can be formed by hardening two kinds of photosetting resins, where by an optical transmission device can be manufactured.

An electrically insulating layer is arranged so as to cover both a first wiring pattern and a second wiring pattern and formed with a plurality of hole arrays in a manner to respectively correspond to first electrodes. The hole arrays each are constituted of a plurality of holes arranged along the first electrode corresponding thereto and so as to extend through an insulating layer to the first electrode while being kept from extending through second electrodes. A third wiring pattern is arranged which is constituted of a plurality of conductive paths each arranged on the insulating layer so as to be in alignment with each of the hole arrays and electrically connected to each of the first electrodes through connection conductive sections formed in the holes of the hole array corresponding thereto.

On the one side of said pair of electrodes one pulse signal is applied transmitted selectively from a plurality of different pulses and on the other side of said pair of electrodes another pulse signal is applied transmitted selectively from a plurality of different pulses. The combination of said two selected pulses produces a plurality of combined pulses equivalent to an alternating current pulse which have a certain effective value of a voltage.
