  • Publication number: 20060008381
Abstract: This invention relates to technology for analyzing a specific component in a sample liquid, and provides an analyzing tool and an analyzing apparatus. Analyzing tool (Y) includes a liquid inlet (61) at a central portion of the tool and a plurality of channels (51) which communicate with liquid inlet (61) and move the sample liquid introduced through liquid inlet (61) by capillary action from the central portion towards a peripheral portion of the tool. Each channel (51) extends linearly for example from the central portion towards the peripheral portion, and the plurality of channels (51) are arranged radially.

  • Publication number: 20050282290
Abstract: The present invention relates to a technique for moving a mobile component such as a sample and a reagent, in an analyzing article. A method of analyzing a sample according to the present invention includes a first movement step of moving a mobile component from a fluid entrance port (61) to a first goal (511) in a passage (51), and a second movement step of moving the mobile component from the first goal (511) to a second goal (512) in the passage (51), in an analyzing article (Y1). The analyzing article (Y1) further includes a branch passage which branches from the first goal (511), and a first opening for releasing gas from within the branch passage. The first movement step is carried out by establishing communication between inside and outside of the branch passage via the first opening.

  • Publication number: 20050201892
Abstract: An analytical instrument (A1) includes a capillary (3) defined by causing a first member (1) to cover an opening of a groove (30) of a second member (2). For bonding the first member (1) and the second member (2), the first member (1) is provided with a bonding surface (11a) made of self-adherent elastomer. Therefore, the bonding of the first member (1) and the second member (2) is facilitated, whereby sealing performance around the groove (30) is improved.

  • Publication number: 20050164401
Abstract: The present invention relates to a technique for causing the temperature of a liquid component retained in an analytical tool (1) to be adjusted to a target temperature, wherein the analytical tool (1) is used for analyzing the sample. According to the present invention, the temperature of the liquid component (10) is raised by heating the liquid component utilizing light energy from a light source (23). The temperature raising of the liquid component may be performed by supplying the light energy directly to the liquid component. Alternatively, the temperature raising of the liquid component may be performed by thermal energy transferred from a temperature raise region adjacent to the liquid component to which the light energy supplied. Preferably, as the light source (23) for raising temperature, use may be made of a laser diode or a light-emitting diode.

  • Patent number: 6874379
Abstract: A pipet device (A) includes a pipet nozzle (1) formed with an internal passage (10) and a hollow pipet tip (4) removably attached to the nozzle (1). The tip (4) is movable between a normal fixed position and a completely detached position relative to the nozzle (1). The nozzle (1) is formed with an external-air intake groove (16). The intake groove (16) is closed by the tip (4) when the tip (4) is at the normal fixed position. The intake groove (16) is exposed from the tip (4) when the tip (4) is moved from the normal fixed position toward the completely detached position.

  • Publication number: 20030185710
Abstract: A centrifugal separator (4) includes a driving motor (M1), a rotor (41) rotatable about a predetermined axis by the motor (M1) and a cuvette (42) pivotally suspended by the rotor (41). The cuvette (42) retains an analyte. The cuvette (42) rotates together with the rotation of the rotor (41) while taking an inclined posture relative to the vertical direction. In this state, the analyte is centrifugally separated.

  • Publication number: 20010019842
Abstract: A container for centrifugation, including a central room having a rotation center, a through hole opened to the upper part of the central room, a ringed dam not higher than an outer wall, wherein the ringed dam surrounds the central room, and a peripheral room disposed between the dam and the outer wall. Plural capillary phenomenon-inducing structures are formed on a surface of the dam facing the central room, and the container is disc-like in shape. Further, the container has a rotation axis, and is capable of elongating outwardly from the rotation axis in the radial direction. Moreover, the container is capable of rotating around the rotation axis for separating a composite fluid into a low-specific-gravity component and a high-specific-gravity component, by centrifugal force.
