  • Patent number: 6954206
Abstract: In order to reduce degradation of the processing performance of the data processor due to use of a part of the main memory as a display frame buffer, when an access request to the memory 200 is generated from the CPU 310, the memory controller 400 holds it once, requests the display controller 560 to stop the access to the memory 200 which is in execution, when data to the access executed already is transferred from the memory 200, holds it, and transfers the access request from the CPU bus 310 which is held by the memory 200. When the access from the CPU bus 310 ends, the memory controller 400 restarts the access stopped in the display controller 560 and passes the held data to the display controller 560.

  • Publication number: 20050159887
Abstract: A terminal apparatus has a simple map installed therein. When a map is desired, it is checked whether or not a map of a desired place exists in the simple map. If it exists, the map of the desired place is loaded from the simple map, or if it does not exist, the map of the desired place is downloaded from a navigation server.

  • Publication number: 20050140524
Abstract: A route information supply system comprises a reception module which receives information on a current position and a destination from a terminal device by communication, a map data storage module storing at least detailed map data and summary map data, a traffic information storage module which stores traffic information, a route search module which searches for a guidance route based on the current position and the destination, a map information generation module which generates map information on an area containing the searched route by use of the map data storage module, and an output module which outputs the generated map information to the terminal device. When an event satisfying a prescribed condition regarding the traffic information exists in the area, the map information generation module generates map information on an area in the vicinity of a point where the event has occurred by use of the detailed map data.

  • Publication number: 20050098164
Abstract: To protect a drive unit in a fluid valve assembly from impurities over a long term by preventing entrance of such impurities to the drive unit, a seal structure the sealing performance of which is hardly reduced is adopted around a moving part of the fluid valve assembly. The fluid valve assembly is provided with a valve member displaceably arranged in a flow passage through which a fluid is allowed to pass, a drive unit arranged outside the flow passage, a connecting member extending through a bore formed in a wall of the flow passage and connected at its end thereof to the valve member and at its opposite end to the drive unit, and a seal member arranged in gas- or water-tight relations with the wall of the flow passage and the connecting member and made of a flexible material such that the seal member does not interfere with a displacement of the valve member when the valve member is driven by the drive unit.

  • Publication number: 20050093720
Abstract: A traffic information providing system externally acquires traffic information including information relating to the travel time of a link, calculates a travel time for a non-provision link to which no travel time is provided through estimate/complement operation. The estimate/complement operation is carried out with use of travel times, emergencies, travel times of links in the vicinity of the non-provision link, and so on, obtained in the near past. The system stores and statistically processes the externally-acquired traffic information, and also estimates a travel time in the near future. When there is an abnormality in the acquired traffic information, the system deletes the abnormality, regards the information as a non-provision link, calculates a probability distribution of travel times of links, calculates a probability distribution of travel times of the entire route made up of a plurality of links, and also calculates a probability for a specific travel time range.

  • Patent number: 6873905
Abstract: There is provided a communications-type car navigation system including a vehicle-mounted terminal and a server. When transferring, to the terminal, the result of a route searching which the server has performed, the server transfers the data that will satisfy the requirements of a route guiding method which the user wishes. Also, the server transfers the route data that has been compressed. Concerning the map data as well, the server transfers only the necessary attributes thereof. Moreover, the following conditions allow the operability to be enhanced: the selection of a map transferring method and the route guiding method where the driving state has been taken into consideration, and the selection of a guiding unit which the user wishes.

  • Publication number: 20050041489
Abstract: In a data processor and a shading apparatus used in the data processor, the data processor selects an address based on the information of a memory or a translation look-aside buffer. Therefore, even when the same data are accessed, a different address at high speed is adopted according to the hardware, object to be processed, processing, etc. A plurality of geometric vectors are given as the parameters for the vertexes of a picture, the vectors are interpolated in the picture, and the luminance of each small area in the figure is calculated using the vectors generated by the interpolation. Therefore, a spotlight or highlight can be expressed with high accuracy and at high speed even when the amount of the hardware and the extent of the picture are small.

  • Patent number: 6853904
Abstract: In a navigation system, display screen handling PG 2032 prepares hierarchically a plurality of operation screens to receive the setting from the operator, and changes the operation screen displayed on display 208 according to the content of the operation to operation button group 207 by the operator, the operation screen under the display, and said layered structure. Further, communication control PG 2032 controls cellular phone 30 through cellular phone IF 204 when it is necessary to receive the information from the information service center 10 in order to process according to the setting given by the operator through each of a series of operation screens displayed on display 208, and establishes the communication line between information service center 10 and this system. And, after information is received, the communication line is cut off.

  • Publication number: 20040204848
Abstract: In a communication-type navigation system for downloading map data according to the present invention, a reduction in the amount of map information to be transferred, correction of a position measured by a GPS, and delivery of advertisements are effected. In this system, a terminal 5 stores rough map data in advance. Then, when detailed map data is required, it is downloaded from a map data delivery center to the terminal 5. Further, together with the map data, GPS correction information is delivered to the terminal 5 from the map data delivery center 80. Still further, coupon information associated with an advertisement is displayed and an electronic mail on the coupon information is issued, by the map data delivery center.
