  • Patent number: 6211938
Abstract: A liquid crystal panel manufacturing apparatus includes jigs, a fluid press device, a mechanical press mechanism, and a heating unit. The jigs are stacked in a plurality of stages, arranged above and below the respective pair of substrates, and have O-rings at positions corresponding to portions on the thermosetting resin. The fluid pressurizing device introduces a pressure fluid into pressure regions defined by the O-rings, surfaces of the jigs, and surfaces of the substrates through inlet holes respectively formed in the jigs, to pressurize the substrates in units of pairs. The mechanical press mechanism entirely presses the plurality of pairs of substrates stacked alternately with the jigs. The heating unit heats and calcines the plurality of pairs of substrates pressed by the mechanical press mechanism. Adhered portions adhered with the thermosetting resin and a display portion of the liquid crystal cell are pressurized, in units of pairs of substrates, in a vertical direction with a uniform pressure.

  • Patent number: 6134681
Abstract: In an SDRAM, when a spare column selection line is not used, access to a column selection line is started at a first time at which complementary column address signals are defined, and access to the column selection line is stopped until a second time at which the level of a redundant column decoder activation signal is defined when the spare column selection line is used. Compared with the case in which access to the column selection line is always stopped until the second time, the access speed is increased.

  • Patent number: 5954565
Abstract: A grinding head unit is constituted by a grinding wheel, a drive device for rotating the grinding wheel, and a movement device for moving the grinding wheel. When vibration of a mill roll is applied to the grinding wheel, a plain wheel integral with an abrasive layer of the grinding wheel and having an elastically deforming function is deflected to absorb the vibration energy. The contact force between the abrasive layer and the mill roll is measured for determining a profile of the mill roll. The mill roll can be thereby ground into a target profile while absorbing the vibration transmitted from the mill roll and measuring the profile of the mill roll, without causing any chattering marks.

  • Patent number: 5945595
Abstract: An online roll profile measuring system for measuring a roll profile during rolling without the effect of an error caused by the change in rolling condition. The system includes a roll grinder unit and a grinding wheel traversing device. The roll grinder unit has a rotary grinding wheel positioned opposite to a work roll for grinding the work roll, a grinding wheel driving device for rotating the rotary grinding wheel, and a grinding wheel feeding device for pressing the rotary grinding wheel to the work roll. The grinding wheel traversing device moves the roll grinder unit in the axial direction of the work roll relative to a guide rail frame fixed on a housing holding the work roll. A roll profile is calculated, simultaneously with grinding of the work roll using the rotary grinding wheel, on the basis of movement amounts of the grinding wheel feeding device and the grinding wheel traversing device.

  • Patent number: 5926153
Abstract: A multi-display apparatus includes a plurality of rear projection-type display devices each in which projection light from image sources is projected through projection lenses onto a rear projection surface of a rear projection screen to form a picture image on a front viewing surface of the rear projection screen, the plurality of rear projection-type display devices being combined together in contiguous relation to one another to form a large screen. An overall front viewing surface of the large screen is formed into a concave surface curved both in a horizontal visibility angle direction and a vertical visibility angle direction. A light-absorbing portion is formed on the front viewing surface of the rear projection screen, and the light-absorbing portion absorbs projection light which passes through one rear projection screen, and is incident as external light on another rear projection screen, thereby preventing a picture image from being degraded.

  • Patent number: 5926434
Abstract: An internal clock generating circuit 200 applies an external clock signal Ext.CLK to a clock buffer circuit 206 in response to activation of a chip select signal ext./CS. The clock buffer circuit 206 is synchronized with the external clock signal Ext.CLK to generate an internal clock signal int.CLK. In response to inactivation of an internal circuit activating signal .phi..sub.ACT for designating activating an operation of an internal circuit of an SDRAM, a clock input control circuit 204 stops transmitting the external clock signal Ext.CLK and an operation for generating the internal clock signal int.CLK is stopped.

  • Patent number: 5905139
Abstract: A polysilane containing insoluble matter and microgel as impurities is purified by dissolving the polysilane in a good solvent to form a polysilane solution, adding a poor solvent to the polysilane solution for causing a minor amount of high molecular weight component to precipitate, thereby agglomerating the insoluble matter and microgel, and removing the resulting agglomerate by filtration. The purifying method of the invention can readily remove the insolubles from the starting polysilane within a short time. A pure polysilane which can form a transparent smooth film is obtainable with commercial advantages.

  • Patent number: 5815032
Abstract: A detect circuit receives a write enable signal, a column address strobe signal and an output control signal to predetect a mode in which data is input from an input/output terminal. While a substrate potential generation circuit normally operates, a substrate potential holding circuit also operates when the detect circuit detects the mode in which data is input, so that biasing capability of a substrate potential generating portion is increased before the data is actually input from the input/output terminal.
