  • Patent number: 6398415
Abstract: A bearing device for a rotary shaft is comprised of a porous sliding bearing and a felt ring fit around the sliding bearing. The sliding bearing and the felt ring are filled with lubricant oil. The felt ring is made of needle-punching polypropylene fibers of 0.4-20 micrometers in diameter. The felt ring is manufactured by shaping the polypropylene fibers into a felt sheet, heat-treating the felt sheet to eliminate fuzz from the sheet surfaces, and punching the felt sheet in a ring shape. The sliding bearing has a plurality of grooves on its outer peripheral surface with which the felt ring contacts. Each groove is formed to extend in a horizontal direction to restrict the lubricant oil from flowing downward.

  • Patent number: 6185373
Abstract: A mirror control apparatus 100; 200 for controlling a mirror 20 in a single lens reflex camera 10. The mirror 20 is supported for reciprocal rotation between a first position in a photographing light path POP and a second position out of the photographing light path POP. The mirror control apparatus 100; 200 comprises a drive mechanism 102; 202 and a brake mechanism 104; 204. The drive mechanism 102; 202 is operatively connected to the mirror 20 for applying drive power to the mirror 20 for rotation between the first and second positions. The brake mechanism 104; 204 is operatively connected to the mirror 20 for producing brake power which varies depending on at least one of factors affecting rotation of the mirror, the brake power serving as resistance against rotation of the mirror 20. Such factors include temperature in the camera 10 and orientation of the camera 10 relative to the gravity.

  • Patent number: 6109305
Abstract: There is provided a double walled pipe having an inner pipe and an outer pipe which is movable relative to the inner pipe in a longitudinal direction of the inner pipe. Acting on only the outer pipe with a pipe jacking power makes it possible to bury the double walled pipe, without damaging the rear end of the inner pipe and also generating an internal stress on the inner pipe. Consequently, it is avoided such a situation that even in use pinholes, cracks, etc. occur on the inner pipe, and thus it is possible to expect an execution with higher reliability.

  • Patent number: 6053010
Abstract: A method for aging steel-making slag comprising the steps of charging normal temperature steel-making slag crushed to the extent that the slag having a grain diameter of 25 mm or less which constitutes 80% or more of the total amount into a pressure vessel which can be closed tight enough to seal a pressure substantially higher than atmosphere. The pressure vessel is closed and pressureized steam is supplied into the said vessel for heating the said pressure vessel and slag to raise the temperature and the pressure in the said pressure vessel while discharging condensed hot water. The interior of the vessel is kept under a condition saturated by steam and pressurized up to 2 to 10 kg/cm.sup.2 G for 1 to 5 hours. The pressure in the pressure vessel is reduced to be equalized with atmosphere. The steel-making slag is then discharged from the vessel. Apparatus is provided for carrying out the above process and includes a pressure vessel having an opening lid for charging and discharging steel-making slag.

  • Patent number: 5843204
Abstract: In a method of recycling iron and steel industry waste by processing the waste as an object substance by the use of a rotary kiln, the object substance is changed into a valuable material while the object substance travels within the rotary kiln from an upstream side to a downstream side. The object substance is heated on the upstream side of the rotary kiln within a reducing atmosphere to be reduced and molten into a reduced and molten product. The reduced and molten product is quickly sent to the downstream side without being adhered to an internal wall of the rotary kiln. The valuable material is extracted from the reduced and molten product which may be directly discharged out of the rotary kiln or which may be discharged after the reduced and molten product is once kept in a basin formed in the vicinity of the downstream side of the rotary kiln.

  • Patent number: 5245154
Abstract: A wood material, into which a synthetic resin solution or the like is injected, is held from its surface and back by heating plates in a closed container. The inside of the heating plate is provided with a heating medium passageway through which a heating medium can flow. A heating medium tank is connected to the heating medium passageway through a heating medium feeding passageway and a circulating pump. Warm water or steam are fed to the heating medium passageway. The warm water or steam have the temperature which can volatilize a medium from the heating medium tank or can volatilize the injected solution. A vacuum pump is connected to the closed container. The pressure is reduced in the closed container correspondingly to the operation of the vacuum pump.
