  • Patent number: 5182582
Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus has plural ink discharge portions, in corresponding recording heads, for discharging different color inks. The ink discharge portions are arranged with a discharge portion for relatively light ink always followed by a discharge portion for relatively dark ink (a given ink being lighter than another ink if the color of a mixture of those two inks is closer to the color of the other ink than to the color of the given ink). A carriage for scanning the recording heads causes a retractable cleaning member and the ink discharge portions to move relative to each other in a single direction so that the ink discharge portions are cleaned only in the order of lighter to darker inks. A second cleaning member is disposed at a position opposed to the first cleaning member to clean the first cleaning member.

  • Patent number: 5087225
Abstract: An oil tensioner for applying a tensile force to chains, belts and similar wrapping type power transmitting mechanisms. The tensioner includes an oil reservoir for storing oil drawn from an engine block to a cylinder of a piston via a check valve, and returned to the reservoir via an orifice. The valve and orifice allow the piston to move more readily in one direction than in the other. A bell-shaped oil filter disposed adjacent to the bottom of the reservoir filters out chips and dust as well as controls the rate of oil outflow thereby preventing air from being drawn into the cylinder with the oil, and providing smooth oil flow and possible damage to the components.

  • Patent number: 4795717
Abstract: A semiconductor device with a FET utilizing a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG), including a substrate, a first semiconductor layer (an undoped GaAs layer) formed on the substrate by an MBE method, a second semiconductor layer (an n-type AlGaAs layer) formed on the first layer by an MBE method, a source electrode and a drain electrode formed on the second layer and having alloyed regions, and a gate electrode formed on the second layer. To decrease the contact resistance between the alloyed regions and the 2DEG layer in the first layer, impurity doped regions are formed in the first layer under the source electrode and the drain electrode by an ion-implantation method, prior to the formation of the second layer. Further, an internal conductive line or resistor can be formed by doping impurities into the first layer by an ion-implantation method prior to the formation of the second layer.
