  • Patent number: 7450818
Abstract: By using program information, the amount of which to be transmitted is not fixed, and related information which is related to the expected amount of the main information, an area for recording main information is ensured in advance on a recording medium. This ensures a reliable recording of a program, the recording of which has already been reserved, without affecting any program which has already been recorded. In addition, even when a change occurs in related information before or after the start of recording information on the recording medium, an area assigned before the start of the recording can be changed corresponding to related information after the change.

  • Patent number: 6073117
Abstract: A mutual credit server apparatus sends credit information about a seller to an inquiring buyer on a computer. Stored is a direct confidence degree about a seller from the point of view of each of a plurality of buyers. The direct confidence degree is determined by each buyer based on direct trade history. Also stored is a buyer confidence degree about each of the plurality of buyers from the point of view of each buyer. The buyer confidence degree is determined by each buyer based upon trade information from the other buyers. When a confidence inquiry is made about a seller by a buyer, a processing section calculates a total confidence degree about the seller and calculates a buyer confidence degree about each of the other buyers, each calculation being made from the viewpoint of the inquiring buyer.

  • Patent number: 5999617
Abstract: This invention relates to a dialing control method in a system, which comprises a PBX, a plurality of telephones connected to the PBX, a host computer connected to the PBX, and a plurality of operator terminals connected to the host computer, and in which an outbound task program runs on each terminal, and the host computer predicts a conversation completion timing of each operator for one called party, performs automatic dialing in accordance with a called party list prior to the completion of the conversation, and connects an answered call to the telephone corresponding to a free operator. The conversation completion timing is detected in advance by detecting execution of a specific portion of the program on the operator terminal, and the number of calls to be automatically originated is determined on the basis of the number of operators, whose conversation completion timings are detected in advance.

  • Patent number: 5438645
Abstract: A neural network includes a monitor circuit for monitoring an output value of each neuron and a weighting calculation circuit for calculating a weighting between neurons in accordance with designation from the monitor circuit in order to determine the weightings between the neurons in accordance with an energy function expressed in the form of a sum of a constrain condition and an evaluation function. The monitor circuit monitors the output values of the neurons and transmits, to the weighting calculation circuit, information representing an unsatisfactory state in which a distribution of the output values does not satisfy the constrain condition. The weighting calculation circuit changes the weightings between the neurons, e.g., doubles the weightings, every time it receives this information.

  • Patent number: 5402359
Abstract: A method for determining routes of wiring nets by utilizing artificial neural networks includes the steps of dividing the wired area into smaller areas, representing each boundary through which one wiring net passes is capable of passing as an artificial neuron, changing an output value of the artificial neuron according to whether or not the wiring net actually passes through the boundary, composing an artificial neural network in which the interaction between the artificial neurons is taken into consideration according to one or more prescribed conditions restricting each route of the wiring nets while changing the output values of the artificial neurons, converging the output values of all artificial neurons, and determining the routes of all wiring nets by judging whether or not each wiring net passes through a boundary according to the converged output values of the artificial neurons.

  • Patent number: 5148045
Abstract: A solution apparatus for solving an assignment problem interconnects the neurons, which correspond to the elements respectively, as the same number as the elements. The weight of connection between the neurons is set and the neurons are activated. The weight of connection is determined according to the connection status between the elements and the constraint of the assigned elements's number for the cell. When the output of the neurons converges, the convergence result is stored and the weight of connection is changed according to the convergence result. The convergence result corresponds to the answer for assigning the elements to two cells groups. The neurons are activated repeatedly whenever the weight of connection is changed. Therefore, the accumulated convergence result corresponds to the answer for assigning the elements to the cells respectively.
