  • Patent number: 4396667
Abstract: An electrostatic recording medium comprising a support, a conductive layer formed on one surface of the support and made of zinc oxide dispersed in a combination of a cationic polyelectrolyte and a non-conductive binder resin, and a dielectric layer formed on the conductive layer. The cationic polyelectrolyte is contained in an amount of not smaller than 30% by weight of the total of the polyelectrolyte and the binder resin.

  • Patent number: 4359238
Abstract: An image-receiving sheet for receiving a particle image electrostatically formed on a photoconductive surface and for fixing thereon a dye-image obtained by developing a sublimable dye former contained in the image particles. The sheet comprises a support member, color developing layer disposed on the support member and a dielectric layer disposed on the color developing layer. The color forming layer contains a developer material for developing the sublimable dye former. The dielectric layer exhibits in a low humidity range, a surface resistivity high enough to electrostatically retain the particle on the surface thereof and also exhibits adhesion high enough to adhesively retain the particles in high humidity range where the surface resistivity is below the required value for retaining the particles.

  • Patent number: 4275103
Abstract: An electrographic recording medium comprising a conductive layer coated on a support such as of paper and overcoated with a dielectric layer. The conductive layer contains fine particles of an n-type metal oxide semiconductor, preferably a whitish or lightly colored one such as SnO.sub.2, In.sub.2 O.sub.3 or ZnO, dispersed in a binder which may be either a nonconductive polymer or a polyelectrolyte. This recording medium is excellent in recording characteristics and particularly advantageous in its usefullness over a wide humidity range containing very low relative humidities.

  • Patent number: 4246143
Abstract: A process of preparing a conductive tin dioxide powder doped with 0.001-2.0 mole % of antimony oxide by heating a mixture of stannous oxalate and an antimony compound, preferably a halide, to form tin dioxide through thermal decomposition of stannous oxalate and accomplish firing of the formed tin dioxide without causing sintering. Preferably the mixture is prepared by using a solution of an antimony halide, followed by evaporation of the solvent. This process gives a tin dioxide powder low in specific resistance for the dopant concentration, high in whiteness and small in particle size.

  • Patent number: 4133933
Abstract: An electrosensitive recording sheet consists of an electroconductive material of cuprous iodide, an electrosensitive color forming material, a binder and a support. A color forms in the recording sheet in response to an electric signal when an electric current flows therein. The cuprous iodide is whitened by adding an alkaline substance thereto, so as to only slightly increase the resistance of the cuprous iodide and to increase the contrast of recorded mark and the ordinary appearance of the recording sheet.
